Some AA's or effects that are suppose to "remove power cost" of specific abilities, appear only to be reducing the power cost by 100%.  That means that anything that increases your overall power cost of abilities, actually negate this %, and makes these abilities cost power when really they shouldn't be.  This includes things like Enchanted Vigor, and more importantly, the debuffs that nearly all HM mobs have now which increase power cost by x%.  Where as you can avoid EV, the fact it doesn't do what it says on HM fights makes it a bit pointless to get.  Specific example is the Defiler's Focus: Voice of the Ancestors which actually states it removes the power cost.  There's also the Shaman Enhance: Ancestral Channeling (Rank 10).  Though that one I suppose does just say it reduces power cost by 100%, but it still shouldn't be negated by debuffs that increase power cost when the spell costs no power after this AA.

i'd say working as intended it doesn't matter what % it reduces power cost by, it's just that a reduction not a removal of cost, if it removed the power cost then it would be unaffected by the debuff.

The only way you could have abilities with no power cost through the reduction AAs unaffectd by debuffs is if the final point gave you a replacement ability which does not have a power cost entry.

If they changed this just because it's 100% reduction next you'll see ppl complaining about having 100% crit chance and being debuffed in SS by at least -110%.

Eh, crit chance isn't even the same deal.  When a Focus Effect says "Remove power cost" then it very well should not cost any power.  I can understand the reduced power cost by 100% AA above, but not a focus that specifically says it removes the power cost.

I have to agree, the ability is bugged, or the description is inaccurate.

Remove power cost explicitly implies sets power cost to 0, not a power cost reduction of 100%, which are 2 distinctly different things.

Sounds to me a dev took a shortcut.

Does the power reduction work as a heal, as with Savante? E.g., Savante will reduce the power cost by ~ 75%, so each cast causes a heal of power by 75% amount of the power consumed, critically. (The Enchanter AA endline "Channeled Focus" is a 100% power reduction which guarantees free power).

It depends are these AA boxes 1 pt or do they require multiple points? also we cant say for sure wether power cost can be removed without using a reduction mechanic.

furthermore what is said and what is meant are two different things. it's not like you are getting nothing from spending points in those boxes you still come out ahead compared to someone without power cost reduction.

The Voice of the Ancestor one that specifically says "removes the power cost" is actually a focus effect, not an AA choice.  So it's one point for the focus.
