Cannot resize group window with Character Portraits Off?

As much as I was looking forward to SOEmote, I don't think I'll be able to use it. My laptop has an integrated webcam, and I usually hook up to an external monitor, so the webcam is usually not on. No big deal, I wasn't too sure I'd be using it that much anyway.

BUT. The "new" group window is MASSIVE. It takes up a quarter of my screen! I want to shrink it back down, but it won't let me. I already turned off "Show Character Portraits" but it still will not let me shrink the window back to it's original size.

Please tell me there's a fix in the works for this.
