A new item was released recently that supposedly lets you change mobs into NPCs.While they do become unattackable and won't attack you, I see no way to make them talk.I only get the aggro etc flavor texts on them and those don't trigger for obvious reasons. Is it possible to actually make them speak or is that broken?

me thinks it is like galaxies 'flavor' mmeans purely cosmetic npcs that wont attack you. although there is always the possiblity they may expand apon them in future so you can create dialog for them to use with player interaction.

I hope you're wrong General_Info, though I suppose there's a real possibility you are correct.  I had so many plans for NPCs that would have something to say if you clicked on them!  I knew a dialogue tree was probably out of the question but I was hoping for at least a single line dialogue like a sign might provide.  Still going to hope.

well it depends on how they setup dialog trees. arcanum has a simple enough dialog system each npc has a config file first there is the npc's first chatter with line references on the end to give the player response chocies, then those responses have numbers on them to refer to the npc's chatter which again links to player responses.

I wanted to add a few as well, but if they don't say anything it's much of a waste.I'd rather have seen this feature to make mobs into corpses, and removing the mob name text. There is no good way to get corpses nowadays and it would improve things a lot.

I too was thinking along the same lines that we would be able to make them speak when approached or clicked on. I had a lot of ideas for using this effect but now it's not so interesting after I tried it.

Still it is nice to have another tool that we can use.
