We ave just had to cancel our 4th night of raiding due to the unplayable lag on x4 raids.

Please add your voice to this thread so that SOE can see that volume of guilds affected and then hopefully put a fix in place.

Raids cancelled for 2 weeks now. SOE hardware upgrade has resulted in the EU servers being unplayable.

New players - do yourselves a favour and KEEP WELL AWAY from EU servers.

We don't raid again till Tuesday, but had to cancel all 3 nights last week due to the lag issues. I helped open a couple of zones with 1 group and did seem to be getting lag still, but not to the extent of last week (then again there were 7 of us in zone not 24).

There is a thread in the Tech Support area about this but it would be nice for some of the "higher-ups" to acknowledge the issue and to say that they are actually trying to solve this with their Hosting partners in Amsterdam.

A Number of the main Backbone routers in North America have been down for the last week.  I've had major issues gaming with people on the east coast due to lag.  Wait a bit till these come back online and see if it's still Sony's fault.

I'm on Ever-crash and the lag i've had server wide from 7PM Cst to 10PM Cst has been horrid,  the Voice Chat makes it 10x worse i had Latency Spikes up to 2500 and even once or twice pegged at 8000.

I think this will get to worse once the F2P peeps get rolled in, seems in their infinate wisdom overall gameing will get worse SWTOR time?

Say time for a server Unmerge? or keep the F2Pers on their own servers and let paying people filter into them?

Same situation here on Valor .... we tried every raid-evening but cancelled finally our raids too because of this uncredible lag.

Well, last night on valor, strange things happens.

We started at 20:00, where not be able to pull a challange mob, then again back at that point, after 22:00.

We started all over again (done some em raids meanwhile), the mob got pulled as it was intended and gone down, with almost 0 lags.....

After all, we had to cancel 1 raid since lags got in. Well... the rest wasnt that funny but we could pull down some of the boses SMILEY

this is my 2nd account my first goes back to the day the game started now i understand teething stages of a new game but theis game far from that now ...

What's that got to do with EU servers?

It's not the logins that are screwed it's the route to the servers, the problem for me is Amsterdam itself, BEFORE it reaches SOE, all they can do is inform whoever is in charge of the routing step that's causing the problem and hope they fix it

I guess it's one of those difficult to pin down things.

We had to delay the start of one raid last week, just went to a diff zone in the end, but apart from that it's only been very minor. We have players from all over EU, Canada and E Coast.

Definitely points to an external problem with either the host or some of the routes to them.

We do not think about a transfer of US server chars from EU costumers in Eq2. That should solve the biggest worries the EQ2 community has at the moment. We do not want to interfere with long build ingame relationships. This is the current way we think about it.

I totally sympathize with you folks on the EU servers. I used to work in network troubleshooting for a major ISP, and I can tell you firsthand that dealing with 3rd-party routers is a long and frustrating process. However, please understand that there is really nothing SOE can do to fix this, it is entirely out of their control. Blaming SOE for this issue would be like blaming your Aunt Susie because the mailman lost the birthday card she sent you.

Sony have had an awful lot of stick this year with the hacking issue and now F2P plans.

Fair play to Sony for the efforts they are making to troubleshoot this where in reality, they probably bear no responsibility.

I think better analogy would be to blame Aunt Susie for the traffic jam on the highway that made your trip to visit her take an hour instead of the usual 30 minutes.

You're right, that is actually a much better analogy. Well played, sir!

Yes and no, it all depends where the problem lies. Many of us have sent in tracert and pathping logs as requested for Sony techs to look at. If the problem is in the Amsterdam data centre then Sony should have SLA's that they can point to and demand a fix.

Even if the problem is outside the datacentre then they should have a vested interest in getting the problem sorted as people won't continue to pay for a game they can't play. It's such a widespread issue covering people from many countries that you would expect that the problem lies with a large company somewhere, and they tend to be pretty fast to react if bad publicity is threatened.
