![]() For some reason I can't enter the game. I'm using the launchpad (streaming client). When I click the "Play" button, I get this error message: - I have tried to log on, on 2 diff computers. I get the same error messages. - I was able to log on without problems about 3-4 hours ago on both computers. - I have tried to log on 2 different accounts, same problem. - I have not used the computers for anything else, not installed or un-installed anything, during these past 3-4 hours. - The path the error-message is refering to (E: ) is my DVD-drive for some reason. Since nothing has changed client-side on either computer between the succesful and unsucesful log-ins, I feel pretty confident in saying the problem is not with my machine (re-boot, re-install, delete .ini-files, delete cache etc will not help). Any patches or updates been pushed out the last couple of hours? |

![]() I just checked the server side logging for your connection attempt and you are returning a 2048 error (which you should be able to see in your LaunchPad.log). This is a security block error. While I do not doubt that you did not change anything on your end, things can change without your interaction at all. Automatic updates, ISP changes, our own updates and client revisions, these can all affect your security software by invalidating any previously set exceptions as the executable has changed enough to be considered different. These are just ideas of what may be behind the error. Double check your running firewalls, anti-virus, and security suite software. This is just a general step, you mention it occurs on another PC so I do believe the block starts in your router or within your ISP. If double checking all of your own configurations does not prove successful, I do have a test that can help us identify exactly where the block is occurring. I need you to bring up a run dialog box. You can do this by pressing and holding the Windows key on your keyboard and tapping the R key. In the box that pops up I need you to type cmd and press Enter (If you're using Windows Vista/7 press ctrl-shift-enter). This is going to bring up an old “DOS box” don’t worry it’s just text. You’ll need to type in the following commands one at a time. Remember to put spaces between all the words, unless there’s a special character like / or . in front of the word. Then you’ll want to keep that symbol and the word together. If you’re having a lot of trouble you can also just copy and paste the text out of this email and into the DOS box. These commands can take a while to run so please wait for the blinking cursor to appear since you won’t see any output to your screen. For the pathping commands you might even want to go grab some coffee, or a sandwich between lines. So, all set? Here’s the commands: ipconfig /all > c:eq2info.txt tracert unrest.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt tracert najena.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt tracert befallen.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt pathping unrest.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt pathping najena.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt pathping befallen.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt If you’re curious what you’re saving for us, try the commands again but without the >’s or the stuff after them. Go ahead, I’ll wait… Pretty confusing huh? Don’t worry I speak gibberish fluently and can translate it for you. Ok now that you’re done with that, you’ll have a file on your hard drive called “eq2info.txt”. If you go into your hard drive you’ll find it right in the main folder. To get there, just do that Windows key and R trick from earlier, and type C: and press enter. The file will be in there. Just send that file into me, I’ll translate it and figure out what happened to your connection, then I’ll let you know. No worries it’ll be pretty painless, but we might need you to contact another company if it’s not something on your computer that’s doing this.

![]() I have the same problem with launching on UK servers. But, if I switch to US servers, all is ok.

![]() I have this exact problem too, here are my details: I was playing EQ2 fine for the last 5 days I was playing it about an hour ago. I just bought the DoV expansion through the take flight promotion, while my character was logged in to the game. I closed the game and now every time I try to load the game I get this message. EverquestII has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown. (http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/patch/eq2/assets/common/)00430d09 bc00001d So far I have tried uninstalling the game and deleting all traces of it in C:UsersPublicSony Online Entertainment I reinstalled using the latest streaming client (it has a DoV splash screen when I first start it) It downloads about 68mb then says play. Every time I click play I get the above message. My boyfriends pc also has eq2 installed on it. I know he logged into the game this morning and everything was fine. I asked him to try after I had this problem and he gets exactly the same message on his computer too.

![]() Sorry I just wanted to add that I play UK region and this happens when I try to log in to UK. When I changed the launcher to US it works fine with no error message. Also I have another SOE game (SWG) is installed here, no problems at all with that launcher / game.

![]() Give it a few and try again. We're looking in to some possible causes from our end as well and should have them sorted out asap.

![]() Same problem here. EU - German: Valor Server When I change the regional settings to US I can login. So I don't think is client side. I don't know if this will help. With EU German settings I found this error lines in alertlog.txt everytime I try to login. build="SOEBuild=7514L" version="SOEVersionString=2011/4/13 15:54:10" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone=" |

![]() Same problem-EU-Splitpaw It was working fine when I logged off last night-no changes on my PC since then (it's been turned off). I was able to log in using the exe in the EQ2 folder (bypassing the launcher) but I get a grey screen with my UI layed over the top-I can cast and move around but nothing of the actual world is being drawn. |

![]() My wife and I have the same problem (2 different computer) on Splitpaw. ISP is VirginMedia.Changing to a US server I can login, so it might be something with the EU servers (considering all people that wrote about servers here were Splitpaw and Valor) Edit: Which email I should sent the generated file to? Edit2: Launchpad.log shows *Error: WebApp: log( "Network Security Error: Error #2048 > LOGIN" ) |

![]() My husband says the tracert stops in Amsterdam. I decided to try to log into the US servers, and that was no problem at all. It's the EU servers that give this error. If this was due to something on our side, I'm sure we wouldn't be able to play on the US servers either? |
