Lore connections from eq1- eq2

Hi there follow eq'ers. Bored and was trying to catch up on some lore and wasn't sure if there was a basic page that said what happened from eq1 to eq2. Back to the game after a while and only now really getting into it with a few RL friends meeting me in the new Norrath so the highest level character I have had was only 30 so I havn't really experienced the quests that might explain the lore.

I've been to the wiki for eq2 but some pages dont really have much information on it. IE: the page for Rivervale which mostly just gives the basic information. And I've read a few pages and found out things like New Tunaria is actualy Felwithe and that the elves are now snoodier than ever, but, it doesn't explain how when why.

If anyone has a favorite lore site please let me know!

wow here is a brief summery.

After the plane of time was invaded in EQ1 (durring PoP expansion), the time line split in two. EQ1 continued on. Eq2 was the other split here the gods retreated back to their planes and blew up the moon. (yes there is more to who and what blew up the moon but whatever). EQ2 is set about 500 years after the time split. The shattering and rending were the events when the moon blew up and then the moon fell to norrath causing the continental shifts. Yes New Tunaria is old Felwithe. They are more zealot because of mayong seduced the queen and there been a LOT of inbreeding. Rivervale has been overrun by the void. At the moment lore wise we are stopping the final assault of the void invasion by killing Roehn Theer. Who is the avatar of hte nameless (a godslayer if you will). Next expansion will be velious and it is presumed to deal with Karafym since Karafym absorbed the powers of theers 2 blades allowing him to have the power to kill a god. As fore lore sites, read as many in game books as possible. And do all the sig questlines. Anything else is either on teh forums or in the WW lore channel

If you back out to the History and Lore page, there are about 5 or 6 articles sticked to the top. Those give a great starting point for anyone interested in Lore. Follow all the links and there is a ton of material to read. While it doesn't cover everything, it covers a LOT.

After your done there just keep reading the current threads. While the Anatheum, Zam and even EQ2i are all trying to start their own lore sections and record bits of it none of them even approach the level of expertise this forum offers right here.

I'd suggest you post new topics about specific questions you have. We all run into bits of Lore while doing quests that sometimes don't make sense or things we wish we knew more about. By posting those questions here others are about to fill in the fragments they have found for various parts of Norrath and we all get a better picture of what is actually going on.

...and occasionally someone throws in a bit of lore from one of those other EQ games and mucks things up. Or a bit of really well written fan faction is taken as Lore and confuses us even more. We're not the devs and we don't KNOW what is really going on but we do the best we can. I think we do a perty good job in general. Maybe we even inspire the Lore devs on occasion. We've even accused the devs of getting it wrong on more than one occasion. It isn't perfect, but we are trying.
