Would you guys consider making the featherfall effects on the SC cloaks work when worn in the appearance slot?

No. Appearance is just that, appearance. If you want the effects of something you are generally required to wear it. You start with featherfall, people will just start saying well you let this effect work from appearance slot, why can't some other effect be applied from the appearance slot too.

because these items are being sold for cash they should either be made to work from appearance slot or be made a clicky buff or if the must remain worn for the effect then either add stats or multiple adornment slots.

Why don't you just buy a mount that floats? (discs, carpets, clouds) Or deal with the fact that you have to give up stats on your worn cloak to get the featherfall effect.

Appearance items should not have any effect on your character besides appearance.

Probably because everyone fears the day that 15$/month = 2nd class EQ2 citizenship and SC + 15$/month = 1st class EQ2 citizenship.

I could easily envision SC armor/weapons/etc. occupying the place that BG equipment occupies (2nd only to hardcore raiding) while expansion gear sets occupy 3rd and 4th positions and the Dev team being told to "tune" instances around having SC armor thus putting those not "buying them" at significant disadvantages in ease of access to content.

Effects on appearance = confirmed slope of EQ2X of live. Many are vocalizing to delay this as long as possible, although it is inevitable.

You can have featherfall all the time without being a Fae. Just put a featherfall cloak into your hotbar and right next to it put default combat cloak. When you are about to jump down or are already falling down you can click your featherfall button and afterwards re-equip your default cloak.

Appearance has to remain appearance only. Once you start to add any non-visual effects to it, it will become a secondary equipment slot with the non-visuals being observed only.

The moment you allow appearance items at all to actually apply any effects they have on them to the player from the appearance slot, it is no longer an appearance slot. The reason is once they start allowing one effect to apply from the appearance slot it opens the door for other effects to be usable from the appearance slot, Effect A works, why shouldn't Effect B. Appearance slots are only for visual flavor, flair, or however you want to put it.

Do what I do...have 2 hotkeys....

One that unequips the appearance slot cloak (with featherfall) and moves it to my normal slots and another that puts it all back as it was.

You soon get used to hitting the hotkeys when needed.

On an off-topic I recently read that Warhammer is selling character levels for cash... Not sure on the details but its 9.99 a level I think? Just setting the precedent.

Haven't looked at them recently, but as far as I could recall I didn't think they were giving anything more then a little weapon or casting skills, which is something, but not really that much when considering what you can get in game.

I personally tend to look at the SC mounts as fluff with their main value being in the different appearance compared to the bonuses you can pick up from the better mounts available in game. Also, recall what happened when they tried introducing the vendored arrows to the marketplace, I think people are more concerned about equipable items that can effect the game in a substantial way.

You're confusing featherfall with a glide ability. Glide lets you jump further. Featherfall just slows your rate of drop.. has nothing to do with crossing large spans. Until they added the Wings of the Fallen, no marketplace item had a Glide ability (the wings have a clickable 30 second Glide ability with a long refresh).

You can have a glide ability also without spending a dime. Gnomish Springloaded boots from your neighborhood tinkerer. Use them when chasing Mr. Relic Holder and you too can jump those spans.

But yeh, back on topic.. nothing should work from appearance slots. Ever.

Back when I used to farm KC, I used to use the batman wings clickie, gnomish stilts and kerra speed to get from the first upper part of the castle to the second part. It was such a blast. They need to get that zone designer to make anotherone like it for t9.
