Hello.

I am currently having shadow problems with GPU shadows turned on. They look great but when i tilt the camera up and down while running they seem to disappear and redraw as if the higher level lighting changed ( the sun or the moon ). And in fact they redraw not correctly, the shadows change or disappear entirely.

For example if i am under a tree with a shadow of the tree on the ground, tilt the camera up and down, the shadows will redraw even hiding the tree shadow...

Is this a bug ? are you guys aware of this ?

I have this same specific problem, I'd like to know if it's being looked into as well.  I love the graphics for the game and I would REALLY like to have shadows enabled.

CPU: Intel core 2 DUO E6550 2.33GHz

RAM: 4GB

OS: Windows 7 64-bit

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5770

Runs smoothly even with shadows enabled and maximum settings.

Greetings,

If you haven't already, please update your drivers to the most recent version as a first step.  Also, you're both running ATI cards then try turning off both the 'Catalyst AI' and 'Adaptive antialiasing' features.  Both have been known to cause strange issues with the game and could be the source of this problem.

According to a dev post, they are aware of this and a workaround is available, with a fix coming:

Really sorry about that.  Go to the CPU options under Display => Shadows, for now, and check the box for "CPU Shadows from off-screen".  I'll have this fixed ASAP.

This works.

Have you tried checking the option which draws GPU shadows from offscreen? (checkbox under the shadows subsection in the game options).

I had the exact same problem and checking that box fixes it.
