![]() My biased assessment: These two systems have rather uneven specifications. But if I had to choose between them, (despite my personal preference for Intel,) I would choose Comp#1, but only if I had to. In the reviews that I've seen, the Phenom II x4 series seems to give better ratings in 3d graphics and games and also comes with a lower price tag. My personal preference for Intel is due mainly to their 'future proofability'. If I only upgraded my current machine with more memory and a better graphics card, I could run EQ2 with reasonably high quality graphics, my Intel processor doesn't need to change to keep up. A side not about the i5, is that it is simply a hobbled i7. That's right, they make an i7 and then block usage to certain aspects, all for the ability of offering a slightly less able chip to middle market consumers. The benefit to us is we can have most of the functionality of the i7 for about half the price. Apart from all the technical blah blah blah though I sense you're after an inexpensive system with good 'bang for your buck'. So, having looked at the Newegg site, as suggested by one of the techs in another thread, I think they look to have some good offerings in the way of what you're looking for. Good luck

![]() I have to agree that system 1 seems better. The ideal situation would be the first system with a lower-end I7 model, but the Phenoms aren't bad in their price range. Let us know if you have any further questions.
