Hey everyone,

I've been playing a Barbarian Guardian since I came to the game, he's level 17, and my friend finally bought the game, he chose a Monk.  Now I have this feeling that a Guardian/Monk duo isn't that great (Played with him a bit today and it was interesting squezzing use both in front of the mobs).  So basically I'm looking for a class that would be a great companion for his Monk.  Completely new to the game so any suggestions would be warmly accepted.

Hmm, wizzie comes to mind. Possibly a combo healer-type/fighter. Gotta say here; Monks don't hold aggro when in groups. Those who play the healer types could say more (and prolly will.) Nother type might be a Necromancer. For a regular account you have 7 toon slots. Try some combo's out and see what fits. Nothing says you have to keep them; after tryouts just delete the bad combos. There is a large upside to this method; your initial choice for a toon-type might well not be the best fit for your playstyle. Case in point; I suck at healers and ranger types. I tried several times to wrap myself around them with no success. YMMV, I just can't make them work.

I almost exclusively play ranger and healer types, and either one would work.

Any class can solo to 80 in EQ.  So of course, any duo can do the same, and much faster.

Got a different goal?  Or another preference? Then state it.

I played a Fury while a friend played a Paladin all the way to 80 and it was fun. We played a Swashbuckler and Conjuror combo and that too was fun. Right now we are both playing as Assassins and this too is fun and challenging. There's just so much content in this game that I believe you can have fun with any combo.
