Anyone heard anything new about the Skeletal revamp lately? or is it still "Coming Soon(tm)"

It would be nice to hear an update even if its just "Yes it progressing nicely"...

I first heard it was Coming Soon(tm) pre-Eof!

The update was confirmed to still be coming from Gnobrin, but still no ETA at this point in time.  This was recent, IE: About a month or two ago.

Should be out right after Guild Housing.

Wait, that was supposed to be in the original set.

Scratch that; we're hosed.

Guild housing != Guild Halls  The Guild housing the was promised at launch was the ability to purchase certain houses with status when your guild reached for example 30 you can buy a 5 room house. These fallacies about Guild Halls, Epics, Dieties, Beastlords and such need to die.

Guild halls are actually in the works.  They've released official art and said that they will be out sometime after Kurn's Tower is released.

Those darn fallacies about Epics!!!  Whoever is responsible for starting them needs to be dragged out into the middle of the street and shot in the face with a Supersoaker filled with whipped cream!!!!  Getting our hopes up about epics and then being let down time and time again is just infuriating!  I swear if i see one more thread about Epi...  wait, Epics are in the game...  So are the Avatars which represent the Deities of Norrath...

i think someone just learned a new word (fallacies) and hoped to find a chance to actually use it.  I believe you should take a moment to review what it is you want to say before you post it on an open forum...  because half of your quoted statement is basically nonsense.

As for Guildhalls...  /shrug.  SOE should just copy the premise of what it did in EQ1 for EQ2 and be done with it.

Regarding Beastlords, yick...  i hope they do not make it to EQ2.  There's no need for them.  they would fill no niche that currently is lacking and any development that would go into creating the class would take away from all necessary development of the classes like rangers, coercers, crusaders and the like which truly need work on pulling them back into balance with the other classes that are working quite well: illusionists, necros, assassins, guardians to name a few.

One before you insult me read the entire thread please.  The Fallacies I was speaking of is the constantly repeated "and they no Epics in EQ2 either nyah" not that they don't exist, the other fallacies are  that Devs promised Guild Halls at Launch and that the Dieties were gone forever, and because these "facts" were later changed magically pandora's box is open and Beastlords shall rain from the sky and everyone wlll sprout wings and fly and mobs shall implode on death into fountains of gore and blood cause... Dev's said no epics and now look.

Really, it's not a matter of "soon" as much as "it's still on the plate and being worked on".  Having to go through every single skeleton and to then choose the least impacting way to clean house to make armor making easier is a LONG task.  So the "official word" is that revamps are still coming, but don't hold your breath that it's coming "soon".

Wow, just wow!  This is very disheartening.  I think you're shooting yourselves in the foot, it seems that an awful lot of things are tied into the skeletal revamp and are being put on hold and listed under "things we cannot have" until the skeletal revamp is done.  I realize, especially because you keep telling us it's very time consuming, but first mention of it was what, two years ago?  If it's not coming soon, you're just going to have a lot more items to adjust and redo, a lot of wasted time imho.  Instead of telling us you're working on the skeletal revamp, I would rather have not known until you had an ETA, but again that's my personal opinion.

Right, and everytime someone asked about something dependent on the revamp, and they were igonored, or given some vauge excuse, everyone and their borhter would have jumped on Sony for not giving them more information.

I am glad to know that they are working on something that will make it easier to get new looks for armor and clothing.

Yes, It is taking a long time, but if they have to confirm EVERY skeleton against every piece of armor and cloathing to confirm the best way to change it, then be glad Sony is saying Sone (tm), they could be saying Future (tm) which would probably mean in EQ3.

Guild Houses are IN GAME RIGHT NOW. At launch they where houses only guild patrons can buy using personal status, if the guild was the correct level. When they removed the Patron system the houses where buyable by everyone but they still require a being in a guild of a specific level and the use of personal status. It is the same as Guild Mounts, Guild Titles, and Guild Cothing, etc. A true Guild Hall was NEVER a feature they talked about, meaning a Guild Hall like they have in SWG.

BTW where did you get that quote as it is full of  Overhype. I guess you could say 100 levels if you add Tradeskills and Adventures together and you could get 48 classes by Adding the Classes(15), and Subclasses(33) of both Tradeskill and Adventuring together, and I don't see any player owned ships, so when reading Marketing speach you got to parce thier words carefully. In this case the parce does show "Guild Houses" in game just like it shows "Guild Horses", "Guild Cloths", and other "Guild Rewards", what it does not show is Guild HALLS.

It is honestly alright that they're taking their time with it. It means that we're going to get a nice finished product that had a lot of work go into it. The alternative is that they rush it out like they did with Vanguard's model 'revamp' *shudder*

That was the most atrocious thing I've yet experienced in an mmo update, no I didn't play SWG, they didn't take some of the bones in the face, they took everything you could change with the sliders. I don't remember them ever stating the facial sliders would have been completely taken out to make room for helmets, really wish they would have made that clearer.... And now because of this experience I have to say, that I don't actually look forwards to the new skeletons, I'm a little scared actually of what we'll end up having to work with...

Yup.  A few "unnoticeable bones in the face" turned into "remove all facial customization options", turning a superb character customization engine and making it terrible, everyone clones. Two years, five years, ten years.  Don't care how long it takes, so long as they get it right.  The longer the project lasts, the more polish they can put on it.
