Just upgraded some hardware on my computer, and so put a fresh install of Windows back on it...When backing up EQ2 in order to avoid having to redownload all the patches, I just copied the whole folder to an external drive, and then copied it back on to my computer after everything was up and running.I run the launcher now though, and every time it downloads all the .pngs and dlls and everything it needs. The game is fully patched and I can launch it directly with the client .exe and play without a problem. What I'm wondering is, is there some file I need to edit somewhere to get the launcher to remember where it's stuck these files?

You may want to try and disable the firewall, and antivirus software if they are installed. You may also want to that try running a clean boot, by making sure all unnecessary background programs are disabled. Please follow the directions below on how to accomplish this.To disable background programs. 1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN.3. Type in "msconfig" (without the &quotSMILEY4. Press OK5. Select the STARTUP tab.6. For Windows 98/ME, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, click on the disable all button.7.Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer when prompted, then try the game again.
