Weird Stuff

I've previously posted under "Chain LD's"---forgive my newbness in not knowing how to do links.

Quick summary: In past had problems staying in game, when char logged in I would be almost immediately kicked back to char select screen, despite a good cable connection and no previous problems for 2+ years playing the game. Would happen on both my laptop (wireless router) and main comp, on both of my two accounts, with anti-virus stuff inactivated.

Since then had cable company fix an outdoor line and channel the connection to comp to even enhance connectivity further. I also had alot of excess memory freed up on main comp to run the game better.

The result to date is that I can now play one of my accounts on one my comps (main or laptop), but I can't play both simultaneously (two box). For instance, one session I will only be able to play with the laptop on account #2 (account #1 won't work on laptop or main comp). I will then camp out or something. With the laptop, only account #1 will work now, but not account #2, which I was just playing 1 minute ago without problems. Next day I log in, laptop won't work on either account. But can get account #1 up with main comp, but not account #2 characters. Basically, when I want to play now, I got a 1/4 chance of figuring out which combination it will be for the night....fun, fun.

I did the online chat session in Support previously, whom recommended I disable background programs, which I did. They then instructed me to open up the ports of the router (Netgear) from 1023-65535. Which I have no idea how to accomplish, but I'm not sure that should be of any use anyways given my situation. Any advise would be appreciated. Let me know if I can supply more info, but I'm not a techie (can't even make links, hehe).

For further assistance with setting up the ports on your router you would need to contact the router's company. I think you said netgear. They will be able to assist you with that, and it is the next step in this situation.

Ports were opened up to the specified range.

Unfortunately issues still persist, but now instead of having my "non-working" comp and account enter game briefly and go LD quickly, upon hitting play button, I fairly quickly just get bounced to char select screen (and not even enter world transiently now). On my "working" comp and account, I can see my non-working char/account briefly enter game by appearing on guild manager board...then disappears shortly thereafter.

Any further advice be greatly appreciated.
