Arranging my sales inventory...bah!

My six sales crates are a MESS! I remember, way back when we sold from our rooms, I could open all my sales crates and see my inventory -- and I had the neatest inventory, although it really made no difference back then to anyone except me. Now, when it's important than people be able to find things in your store, I'm finding it frustrating that I can't look at my whole inventory like I once could. Or am I missing something? Can we open up the sales crates? Does anyone have any tips for keeping inventory neat without being able to look at the inventory? What happens with my crates, they might start out neat, but now I have a collection beetle, for instance, and I know I have other beetles but without checking all six crates I'm not sure where they are. So I just dump it into any old crate that has room for it. And so on with the next item, until everything is in a jumble. Gee, I would HATE to shop at my store! Can any help me?

I just start neat. Ammo all goes in the Weapons rack. Jewelery boxes, one for Tools and one for Totems. Plain old Sales Crate for harvests and other crafting bits. One big sales crate for miscellany - spells, collectibles, etc. Veteran's box for anything over 1p. Having boxes that LOOK different seems to help, and cases that only hold specific things helps too.

Sounds like it's nice to shop at your store, Calthine. At my store, you might have to look through six different crates to find that yellow spotted beetle......Thanks for the tips!

I wish sales crates could be named - so for the many that have only generic crates they could be labelled eg Spells, Weapons, Shinies/harvestables etc. Entering a Bayles St address to be confronted by 6 ebony crates is frustrating

If it helps you, as a buyer I seldom find it hard to go through 6 boxes or how many there are. If I went to the shop for one specific item, I either sort the box I look in alphabetically or after value. It makes it very fast to go through boxes. What can make a purchase slow is if the seller thinks it is cool to put his boxes in the basement or far away, or simply makes it difficult to see/find the boxes. But sorting the boxes as a buyer is something that can be done fast and easy. Perhaps you worry to much *hug*

Thanks, Liljna, that makes me feel better! I know what you mean about having to hunt through the whole house looking for the sales crates. I've run into this a number of times. It makes me wonder why someone would want to make it more difficult to buy from them than it already is, but perhaps there were decor considerations.

I know what you mean! Mine are all right there when you zone in, arranged around a launch-era sales counter I smuggled in from Freeport.

I would really like to see them make it so that when I went into your house and clicked on *any* sales crate the list included everything in any of your sales containers. Seems like a small change to a database query would be all that's probably needed to make this happen.

Oh, I like that idea! It would make finding the right item so much easier. SMILEY
