Optional of course.. I'd like to be able to block all tells from people less than a certain level, if they're not on my friends list.

I find one problem with this: Random Newplayer: /tell coollevel70character how are you liking the game? --coollevel70character does not answer-- Random Newplayer: /tell mediocrelevel50character do you have any advice for me? --mediocrelevel50character does not answer-- Random Newplayer: The community of this game sucks, no one will talk to me... I thought they had a better community than this! Blocking is meant for blocking people who annoy you... that is why theres /ignore name... to ignore the person emssing with you. Furthermore, blocking all of the level 5v characters would be like blacklisting them all >.>

It would be nice if /ignore ignored the account and not just one player. /ignore annoyingplatspammer and the whole account is blocked. I wish this would happen.

I'd suggest something more along the lines of an hourly /tell limit or something. I mean, it wouldn't prevent spam tells, but if a level 1 (or 1 to 9 or the like) character to 5 different people for tells per hour, let's say, then that's X hundred who don't have to hear from the person.

I doubt all high level players will block people.  Even in that ridiculous extreme, I seriously doubt it would affect the community as much as you think.  And there's always forums and chat channels for questions. Besides, I'd set my /blocktell to something like "Sorry not taking tells, if you have a question about the game please ask in a chat channel".  I doubt it would be absolute silence lol.

If you seriously think it would affect the community, it's fine by me if you leave your /blocktell's turned off and deal with spammers along with the occasional newbie.  Personally I'd rather not get so annoyed by spam that I quit and leave that player with 1 less toon to group with when he grows up. Besides, this thread isn't about alternate ideas or plat spam or anything else.  It's about the one idea suggested in the topic, an OPTIONAL /tell filter by level.  Let's stick to that topic please, I don't want this turned into another plat complaining thread that gets ignored.  If you have other cool game ideas, create your own threads. I don't know of any threads that are ignored.  It is just a matter of some things taking longer to implement in a useful manner than others. There was a recent developer chat where Gallenite had some things to say about efforts to combat plat spam and there was mention of a filter of sorts. As the topic of using various filters on /tell is being widely discussed in another thread already, I am closing this thread.
