![]() It wasnt untill KoS did the dev put in slow swinging dual wield weps, and i havnt found any in EoF wha ti fear is that teh devs realized the slow swinging weps give us a significant boost in dps and wont put anymore into the game with the comming expansion it does one no good to try to use a lvl 70 wep on a lvl 80 mob, it simply wont hit thus no procs and due to our S%^T aa's i doubt they have any thoughts on giving us anything to help our dps in the comming expansion |

![]() If by slow swinging you mean GDoH slow than the Rumbler in EH has one that is actually probably better than GDoH except that its a slashing weapon. I didnt think it was better at first because it has a low crit ratio, but after some research my friend did on it it turns out the low crit ratio doesnt matter in this case. Its called the Bisected Saber I think 4sec delay. There are quite a few weapons that are slower swinging than Dirk of Negativity, but not as much as GdoH and which have decent crit ratios. Vampiric Axe and Rapier of Darkness in IS and the Ancient Scimitar of Wounding in EH and there may even be some others we havent found yet. You seem to think the devs are out to get us...

the ratio of maximum hit to minimum hit definately affects critical hits. the segmented sabre being a slashing weapon puts it well behind the gdoh because there are so many piercing mods out there and so few slashers. the 4 delay is nice but the critical ratio being only 3 to 1 (i think) is a huge hit against it. the 10 to 1 ratio of the gdoh is one of the things which make it so godly. i'm not sure why your friend thinks it doesn't matter in this case but i don't see how that's possible. |

He can only think it doesn't matter if he doesn't understand it. The delay on the GDoH is very nice but it's not THE reason to use it. The damage spread is such a huge factor when you start stacking crit bonuses. I'm thinking a slasher wouldn't be that bad on yellow mobs. You can get a pretty decent to-hit ratio because your melee skills tend to buff as a whole. The piercing specific ones are a little above the rest if you've been getting gear with it. Would the difference be enough to drop the to-hit % by something significant like 5%? It would be a good experiment to try - maybe I will. On orange mobs splitting pierce & slash would be awful. Huge mistake unless you have a great buff like the warden skill increaser. But if the slasher is good enough, you could use it normally and swap out for the hard fights. Without the huge dmg spread (and delay) of a GDoH it would be a tough sell for me. Doesnt' take a lot of additional auto-attack misses to start losing serious dps. I haven't seen a link for it yet so we'll have to see.

The Bisected Saber has a perma +2% to critical hits. Not sure if that can make up for the lose on the damage spread, that's where somebody should get it and start parsing. =p
