I'll try and keep this brief.1) How does our AoE work (surprise)? Does it determine the range based on where you are or the target mob? Also it seems very inconsistant to me. Sometimes it seems to hit guys far away sometimes it misses lots of bunched up guys.2) Why does my poison do a lot damage than it says it does in the item description? Ex- my poison when i buy it claims it does 104 dmg on hit while the buff claims it only deals 66 dmg.3) I turned the 22 mark and what Health/power increase/regen should i get? I'm not quite sure how well certain ones scale. Like if i get 2.5% increase to max health is it 2.5% of my health at the time of purchase or does it constantly scale with my group? Also is 5 health regen in combat actually noticable and does it get swept under the rug in a few more levels?4) How important are stats to dmg ratio's on items for assassins? For example should i give up a little dps for better stat buffs or should i go for the maximum stats boosts. Should i give up a few points of agi or str for a little extra weapon damage? Thanks for your time. Boneripper 23 Assassin (Vox)

Surprise is a "frontal" AoE...it will only hit mobs that are in front of you....its got a pretty wide angle though...there is a range in "meters" its fairly short...positioning is key to its use...we have another AoE series that hits all around you.
2) Why does my poison do a lot damage than it says it does in the item description? Ex- my poison when i buy it claims it does 104 dmg on hit while the buff claims it only deals 66 dmg.
Sometimes there are 2 numbers, an initial damage, as well as a Damage over time Effect.  Depending on what you buy, the initiall hit can be greater or smaller than the Damage over Time component.  This could explain the discrepency.... additionally the damage listed is the "base" damage of the poison, the mobs resistance and debuffs get factored in,  The Assassin Snare spells also debuffs poison resistance, making your poison do more damage.....Lastly you have a natural 1% chance to strike critically (crit) with poison, which does extra damage.....If you choose a certain Acheivement line you can raise that crit chance to 52%
3) I turned the 22 mark and what Health/power increase/regen should i get? I'm not quite sure how well certain ones scale. Like if i get 2.5% increase to max health is it 2.5% of my health at the time of purchase or does it constantly scale with my group? Generally speaking 2.5% health is much better than 5pts per tick of regen....you're right its not noticable and becomes less so the higher you get....the 2.5% scales the whole way.
4) How important are stats to dmg ratio's on items for assassins? For example should i give up a little dps for better stat buffs or should i go for the maximum stats boosts. Should i give up a few points of agi or str for a little extra weapon damage?
As far as weapons go, choose to use the ones with the highest damage rating....the stats won't affect your damage as much as the damage rating does (If they are really close, choose the one with better stats or a better proc). *PS AGI is over rated, STR is king, it makes all your Combat Arts hit harder, after that, STA and INT are your next best choices....STA gives you HP and INT makes your poison proc for higher damage.

-- I came to the same conclusion also after LU24 reworked a lot of my gear (my str went down the tubes and I could barely solo at all).  I went out and focussed on my STR, nearly doubled it, and my agility only dropped a little with our buff on.  It was a noticeable difference.

I also noticed the deal with the poisen and never figured it out.  I don't think the OP was talking about the actual damage messages you get when fighting a mob, but instead when you examine the icon for the poisen after you have applied it.  I am using crafted poisen and at L20 crafted it says (can't remember, so just a guestimate) something like "113 dmg..." before you apply it, so on the item in your inventory.  Then when you apply it the actual icon in your maintained spells says "74 dmg".  It's a large difference.  I thought it might be due to my level compared to the poisen, but I'm 25 and the poisen is 20.  That makes sense or did I confuse the question?

I'm not sure, I'll have to check in game.  This could have something to do with INT or it could be a graphic bug possibly related to the crafting changes. If its a bug it  might not apply to T7, so I'll check T3 as well.

Thanks for the replies. Immensly helpful. In terms of the poison Sebhan thats exactly what i was talking about sry if i wasn't clear. In my inventory it tells me my poison will do 100 off some dmg and the buff claims it only does 65 which is a pretty big difference. I also thought it might have to do with my level but all the poisons i tried have the same problem. Just wondering if someone could shed some light on the issue.

I am not absolutely certain, but I assumed that when you examined the poison it gave the max damage it could do with someone maxed out in INT, and when you used it and examined the icon it gave the max damage it could do factoring in your INT.    The sad part for scouts is that just about every stat, STR, AGI, STA, WIS, and INT, factor into our abilities, some more than others, but most other classes only need to focus on 2 to max out their abilities.
