Stop all the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ing, I'm a 70 ranger, 70 woodworker that raids 5-6 nights a week and I am prosud to be a ranger. I'm gonna love the class no matter WHAT SOE decides to do to it. Bieng able to sit back and shoot all day long, what more can I ask for...ok some running in and melee'n but still. If you dont like that class, FIND ONE YOU DO! You are doing nothing but bringing the class down and making us that DO like our class look bad, for crying out loud, stop or go elsewhere.

I just love the click through random acts of stupidity.

Firstly, I think that there are quite a few things that most rangers love. However, most are scared [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]less to mention them because they are afraid they will get nerfed back to the stone age. I think that any educated person, knows there are certain truisms in the world. One is that only 20% of happy people leave feedback, while 80% of unhappy people do. So, I wouldnt expect to see a hundred happy posters every day, expecially if you refer to my first point.

The reason that rangers get so upset is because we are the class that seems to be right on the cusp of every direction change. Would most of us still be rangers? Of course we would. But we would have begun our journeys with acurate expectations. Every class should have drawbacks. And most do, the problem is that it is hard to quantify the drawbacks in relation to what is most important to the game.

Rangers drawback is that in order to do any kind of respectable DPS, we have to spend money. Loads of it. Arrows, Poisons, Potions, Gear to be equal or only slightly lower to our same tier siblings. Im not going to go deeply into this, because the all knowing trolls already know everything, so me pointing it out again, would be redundant. Rangers know exactly what it takes to compete, and at varying levels, and playstyles it takes varying accounts to get an acurage big picture.

Secondly, I dont believe anyone was talking to you. (And if this pisses you off, yes I must mean you). I mean, When we post what we want, need, think, or our findings, were posting it in hopes that the designers/developers actually read it, and we are trying to have enough faith in the system that they will recognize the logic and use it for the good of the game. I dont think in any way, shape or form, a post here about fixing game mechanics is pointed to any individual other than someone working on the engine its self.

I also should point out that never since I have read these forums has someone came back with a 'mathmatical' or 'quatable' piece of information, that someone has said 'uhhhhh ok, hmm. your an [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]'.

Another words if I am complaining that 2 + 4 doesnt seem to be returning 4 for me, and you have some data that would explain it, or even better explain why it should not equal 4, great. But if your response is 'quit [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ing about the math', well than you can kiss my proverbial lilly white [Removed for Content].

If rangers were told right now. "You are T3 DPS. Thats the way it would be. If we are told your T1 DPS, then I guess thats the way it would be. The issue isnt whether we want more power or less power, we point out the discrepencies in the logic. I think all classes just want to fill their rolls. Being left out of raids or groups is no fun, period, so honestly, I hope they get all classes balanced, but because I play a ranger, I worry about mine.

I think rangers are up in arms (no less than any other class atm) because the tiers have gotten way out of wack again. One point was made that they didnt want to add any 'class defining skills in the aa's that would stop anyone from getting groups', however, it was implied that the new changes would bring the rangers back into the proper balance compaired to the other dps classes. A Discrepency at best.

I tried out a few othre classes on beta/test and can understand why other classes are so afraid of the fact that rangers argue logically, and use number in their posts. Some other classes shoud be scared [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]less that they will get the same treatment that rangers have gotten. I personally hope they dont. Id just like to be 'considered' an 'equal' replacement for that class, if indeed I am SUPPOSED to be an equal replacement.

On a side note, id like to see skills that have a group member multiplier. So that the big hit spells arent as big a hit spell solo, but much more effective in groups. This would be a good way to not overpower a class, while making them effective in groups. my .02c

Well good for you for settling on being a mediocore class while the rest of us try and to get a few improvements to the ranger class. I mean, after all, thats where most of our complaining stems from. If not one ranger came forward and complained after "the great nerf", do you honestly think the devs would have bothered to look at us again? My moneys on no, I dont think they wouldnt have.

I've been playing my since day one of EQ2 launch. Through good times and bad alike, I have stuck with this class and will continue to do so, however, if there are changes made to the class itself, or the dynamics of the game that alter the way the class should function, I wont sit idle and let it go forth without making my protests known.

Have you seen the most recent changes to the AA lines? Did you see what they looked like right after the NDA was lifted? If you compare the two, you'll notice that several of the new AAs are drasticly improved over what they were. Feel free to thank the "whiners" for those changes. I think its fair to say that overall, the AAs are actually worth being excited over now. Yes there are some more that could be worked on, so yes, you'll prolly see more complaints. Just because you see ppl upset over something does not mean that we hate the class, nor does it mean that the players suck. We all have a vision of how we see the class, and for the most part, I think all rangers share a similar veiw of this, we just want to see it work that way.

Indeed, Colbie...it is funny...indeed. Colbie is amused by the freedom of speech that goes on here...and so am I. Sure...that freedom of speech is made use of by other posts...about 75% or more of the front page has nothing to do with those two posts...

But Colbie is not interested in percentages...they are for the weak and whiners to worry about...not someone with the pure unadulterated love for rangers that he has.

I hope to one day love my ranger class like colbie...if it means blinding myself to every other positive post out there...or healthy discussion regarding ranger weaknesses...then so be it.

I used to post a lot here under a different account. I used to campaign for changes to X and Y, etc.After the big nerf/de-nerf, I stopped.As far as I'm concerned, my ranger has been a lot of fun to play since then, solo, group and in raids. The incoming changes are going to make my class even more fun.I'll just say this: I rarely come near this forum anymore because most of the people who post here are whiners, or stupid whiners, and it wasn't always this way. Some of you take a video game way too seriously.

Yeah... I've definitely found that the less I worried about crap I couldn't control, the more I enjoyed things. I've definitely been at points where I've taken all this stuff too seriously - to the point where my involvement on the forums actually made the game LESS fun. That's pretty stupid. Back off, get some perspective, and *always* ignore the doomcriers who assert that SOE hates rangers. They don't hate any class, and to say so is ridiculous.

That said, yes, one of the primary uses of any game forum is going to be for discussion of all aspects of the class, including the problematic ones. It's a fine line between constructive criticism and whining, and often "whining" is in the eye of the beholder.
