If you don't already have it, you simply need a tier-appropriate weapon or weapons.  For t3, that would be carbonite(common) or steel(rare) for your melee weapons, and ash(common) or fir(rare) for your bow for the crafted stuff.  If you already have those covered, I would guess that your resists are caused by the mobs you are fighting being orange or red to you or if it's just a specific type of mob perhaps they are resistant to the type of damage you are dealing, i.e. piercing or slashing.Hope that helps.

aye, what zho said. if the weapon is to low for you, the name should be grey and it should say so when you examine it.

another thing could be that your weapon is not 'special' enough for the mob. you have these tiers: 'commen' (isn't written), handcrafted, treasured, legendary and fabled. if the weapon is not 'special' enough, it won't scratch the mob. but that's just for certain mobs, mostly named ones.

I had the weapons I have now sence level 11. I think they do 7-22 but have a but load of +'s I think its time to drop those. I want to dual wealed so at this point getting as much damaged will be the direction Im heading now.

Yeah, you definitely need to do some upgrading there.  Unless you're rich, I'd recommend a set of carbonites.  If you can get into some groups, then you'll have some opportunities to get some legendary drops.

start doing PGT for at lvl 32 and get a steel weapon (Tier 3 rare) if you have cash to spare i.e. 10 plat.

Do i even need to say duel wield? i thought not SMILEY

But you go through the younger levels so fast its hardly worth it. I just upgraded the BP/legs, bow and 2 duel wield each tier mainly. But heritage came in around 40ish with PGT, Bone dirk, SSoY etc...

Aye, at 25 you don't have very long at all in t3.  It would be a waste of coin to buy a set of rare dual-wields at this point.  Upgrade your bow to imbued fir, and get yourself a set of carbonite dual-wields.  You should be able to get the bow for less than 50g even if you're on a server with a really screwed up economy, but I would expect you could get one for around half that buying it straight off the broker.  You should already be thinking about t4 weapons and equipment at this point.  Save as much of your coin as you can for the upper tiers.  That's just my opinion, though.

50 gold!  Holy crap!

I got my pristine imbued fir longbow for nothing.  I tipped 50 silver to the woodworker that made if for me (since that's what I paid for my pristine imbued bone longbow).  She said she would to it for the experience (I added her to my friends list, with a note saying she's a woodworker - I'll use her again!!!)

I did provide the rare fir, and paid another 50 silver to get an extract made (I provided the sparkling whatever).

But 50 gold!  Gah!  Do you even talk to the crafters, or do you just go on the broker?

Now - if we were talking Palladium Torques, that might be different (good thing I can make those...).

get the components and find a friendly crafter to craft it for you. weaponsmith for the blades, woodworker for the bow. that's best way to go.

or, if you want another option for a bow: 'Stormfire'. on my server a couple of them are on broker, for around 25 gold. or just quest it. you get the quest from Sir Valinayle in stormhold; he is halfway down the tunnel after entrance.

In that case, join the Qeynos_Crafting channel for your server.  You can either type "join Qeynos_crafting" or right-click on your chat window and bring up chat options and it's in the center column.  If you're still using default chat, do "/1 Any woodworkers out there who can help me figure out what I need to do to have a t3 rare bow crafted?"  I can almost guarantee someone will be willing to help you.  Too many good people in this game for it to go ignored. As an option, you could get your dual wield weapons, and follow the advice of one of the above posters and start Stormfire(don't even try to go into stormhold without tier-appropriate weapons).  You're at about the point where if started now, you'll just be able to equip it by the time you've finished the quests.  And being in a tight dungeon, you won't miss the bow as much as if you were out say killing giants out in the open.  And Stromfire will be useable and effective up to about level 35 or so, maybe even a bit higher.

yeah, in that case you may just want to get Stormfire. doesn't have a proc, but a bit better damage rating. i stuck to it till my mid-30ies when i got Sureshot and i probably would have stuck to Stormfire till lvl40 if i hadn't gotten the other one. last night i read in traders channel that Stormfire went down to like 15 gold on broker on my server. you'll soon be at level to use it (2SMILEY or an oak long bow (30) so you may want to save the money and skip the fir. 10 plat is much, but no use throwing it all out at that level :smileyvery-happy:

at lvl40 i switched to an imbued cedar long bow. you may be more lucky finding people willing to make that one or finding it on broker. on my server they are often on broker. and i know i would make one if you asked  (soon woodworker 49) :smileyvery-happy:

a thread you may want to have a look at: Ascendance of Bows

Very cool !!  For future reference(you may use this already), I highly recommend a little app called EQ2iDB, which you can download here.  It's pretty handy in that you can see every weapon available at every tier so you can have a heads up on the stats and procs.  It also includes screencaps of the examine window.

yes, go get that one. it's a really good tool.

a warning on the screencaps though: they may not be up to date; noticed this on some occasions. probably due to the devs fumbling around with the values all the time... :smileyvery-happy: and the high amount of items that exist of course.but with the tool, you can copy an item link like the ones in game. this then can be pasted in-game in chat input (ctrl-v is the shortcut to paste), press enter, then you can click the link to get the current values. you may want to use 'say' for that if you don't want to broadcast links all over the place btw. :smileyhappy:
