nightcord owns relic, and you dont have to compete with other scouts/priests when it drops (cept other bards SMILEY )

Agreed.  But boots, legs, shoulders are worth picking up if you get a chance.  +slashing/piercing/crush are situational, but still useful.

Shamelessly cut and pasted from the Equinox message board for you!

In Solesuk Eye there is a fire giant named Keotor Talyse. He stands on the bridge leading to the Forge of Ages, /waypoint –62 –626 -56. When you hail him you can ask him what ingredients are needed to make various pieces of relic armor for your class. Each piece requires a base piece of relic plus 3 gems. Relic base armors drop off epic mobs and gems drop off anything.FightersChest - Pristine MoonstonesLegs - Exquisite EmeraldsShoulders - Exquisite MalachitesForearms - Exquisite OnyxHead - Exquisite OpalsHands - Exquisite PeridotsFeet - Exquisite PearlsScoutChest - Pristine RubyLegs - Flawless AzuriteShoulders - Flawless Rose QuartzBracers - Flawless TurquoiseHead - Flawless AmberHands - Flawless Red BerylBoots - Flawless JadePriestChest - Pristine ObsidianLegs - Refined Black PearlsShoulders - Refined AdamantitesForearms - Refined QuartzHead - Refined AquamarineHands - Refined TopazFeet - Refined RubiesMageChest - Pristine ChrysoberylLegs - Immaculate BloodstoneShoulders - Immaculate NephriteForearms - Immaculate Gold BerylHead - Immaculate SapphireHands - Immaculate GarnetFeet - Immaculate Amnethyst

If you think the Great Pumpkin is sexy, you'll LOVE relic gear!(but at least the orange/redish pants don't have the crappy skirt thing like Nightcord)

My imagination is very limited. So I'm picturing your little ipod guy with each leg baring a pumpkin...

If anyone has a pic it would be neat. But not exactly a pressing matter :p

Cool.  I had heard Troubs weren't using the exact same gems as all scouts.  Bad info I guess.  Thanks for the link =)

Yeah, they're nice, but you can get Nightcord legendary and fabled (both are better imo) in Labs easy enough, heck, I got my nightcord gloves just off thrash in there SMILEY

Some pieces are better, some are not.  The gloves and bracers (both Legendary) are the only pieces that drop from trash mobs.I wouldn't call getting a great deal of Nightcord "easy" though, unless you're the only bard in a raid guild AND you get lucky. Having 12 full sets of armor drop from one zone is a very big loot table (for EQ2). You could raid for months and never see a single piece of Nightcord drop, or you could get 3 in one trip. It's all up to the random number generator.

Yeah - never seen Nightchord boots, but the chest and legs are rotting for us now (we have 4 bards in guild).

psh, it's times like this that I was in a RAID guild. I'll never see either of these types of armor. I count myself lucky to have a set of Troub only bracers.

Funny you just summed up my experience with nightchord drops exactly :smileyhappy:. We had a hat, bracer and gloves drop in the same raid probably a month after KoS went live. Then a long time went by with nothing before we got 2 more hats in back to back raids. The tunic dropped only last week. I'm resigned to the likelihood I'll never get any apart from the hat since I'm sharing with 2 other raiding bards.

Been playing for 3 years but due to jumping toons and servers I've got 6 toons (iirc) 50+ but never made it end game.  Going there on my troob so was wondering if there is a guide to this stuff?  I hear people talking about relic armor etc but that's as far as my knowledge goes.  Sounds like you need gems and crafting to get them, right?Other stuff on here (Nightcord) just mob drops, right?

Nightchord drops from mobs, named and trash (in some KOS raid zones)
Relic drops from the same mobs, but only drops a generic pattern (silk, leather, chain, plate) for each armor slot.  ONce you have the pattern you need 3 gems (different for each archetipe and armor slot).  With the pattern and gems you have to go to Sol Eye, a NPC by the Forge of Ages trades that stuff for your armor piece.  No tradeskilling involved, just turn items for your armor.
