I just got KoS this morning, and don't have time to play really, has anyone gotten pickpocket, if so:

A) is it on such a huge timer that it's worthless?
B) will it work on players, or just stealing coin from enemys EQ1 style?
C) do you have to be in combat to use it? (I'd like to try to pickpocket the level 75 epic x4 guards XD)

So far. Worthless. I have tried and tested it out on Players. No dice. Also, try it on Player pets, no dice. It say Humanoid mobs, but the Bixies on Bixie Isle give ya nothing! No Dice. I got it to work on one T7 mob and what did I get... Are you Ready!!!!

53c.

Don't get me started on Aggro control or AR. Just disappointing.

I wonder... I was in a group w/ an Assassin last night and he said the bounty occurs when the mob dies he gets coin for it... idk if thats restricted just to humanoid mobs like our spell indicates..

while in KoS my average using Pickpocket was about 2-4silver ... and those were the time i WASNT caught... lol.. seems even though the mob is attacking the tank all to hell and back he still can stop us from reaching into his purse...

the recast timer really needs to be looked at tho.. w/in the 1 min recast my group had killed 2-3 mobs easily.. and of course the assassin got his bounty... lol.. ( bah yes I believe a rogue should get more money then a predator )

so maybe a 10-20 second recast timer might be more apprpriate for this spell.

Even tho you don't really get much, 6sp is the most I've gotten, I'm glad they finally gave us pickpocket. It makes me start to feel like a rogue again. Relatively speaking tho, I think it's pretty close to what you could pick in EQ1. I don't recall making huge amounts of money from pickpocketing in that game either.

The nice thing about this thread is when someone says "Well that's my 2cp on the subject" they can mean it literally. Also might I add to the poster above me that your Sig is definately the best ratonga sig I have ever seen. Nice furry snout and under the eyes (I used to have rats as pets way back in the day).

I think its a fun spell.  Not useful at all but fun.  BTW I tried to pickpocket a level 66 guard in FP and got owned lol....5900 dmg.  So, not learning my lesson at all, I figured I would give the level 74 epic x4 guard mob a try =)  Needless to say, I didn't last very long after his first hit of 20k dmg.

my biggest PP is 6s98c haha. actually over a night i end up w/ ~3000c and ~1000s justt from PP alone. that's about 6 hours of hunting, so it pays the equipment repair bills.

I tested to make sure epics don't drop a decent ammount, they don't. Level 65 epicX3 guard in WFP gave me 5s 40c.

I am so angry at this ability.

They should increase the value that you can pickpocket or drasticly decrease the ability use timer. It's worthless currently and takes more time to cast it than the reward that you can get from it.

Whats funny is another group member heard the "cha ching" sound when I pickpocked a giant in Sol's eye. So, I got around 2s for it and got caught! I'm surprised the giant didn't whip a purse out and beat the crap out of me! :smileysurprised:

I've added it to all attack macro's that I've created in game. Now whenever I'm letting the group know that I've debuffed the mob, I'm also pulling 6s. :smileyvery-happy:

First, that's a very good idea. I'll keep that in mind and try to find a way to work it in.

Second, so far, I don't know if I can say it has been 100% useless to me cuz afterall, 6s is 6s right? It just hasn't been worth my time to remember to click the silly thing, and when I have the failures have been overwhelming compared to the successes.

(now a tiny bit off topic)

Third, I've never created any attack-combo macros, only text macros to alert my raid of when the big debuffs land. Positioning, timing, how my aggro "feels", how the fight is going, lots of things change the way I play my skills (ever so slightly) so I've never felt comfortable with the chain command macros, so I click em the manual way. I'm talking about raids here too, never felt the need to call out every debuff in groups, only when we've got the nukers wanting to know when to toss Ice Comet out, hehe.

Finally, with as much lag as I have had lately between combat arts (1 to 3 seconds between skills is common) I don't see how any combat macros could work.

PS: 1 to 3 seconds combat art lag makes double up nearly useless, but I digress.

Actually i've found if you use it every chance you get in a group you can pull at least 10g a session in with it, usually pays about half of a raid repair bill, not amazing but hey, it's free money.

actually, on the new servers where everyone lvl 20 isnt twinked to hell and beyond, and you can still buy a tier2 dagger for under 1000 plats... having 40 copper every minute adds up. Considering at my current level i make maybe 50 silver per group which may last two or three hours, well half that profit could be from pickpocket.

Now, the downside is if i get pkd, there goes most of my coin, but thats the life of a rogue.

Speaking which, being a rogue on a pvp server is a little rough until you get into group vs group... and then positionals get REAL fun hehehe.

Actually IMO rogues own in PvP :smileyhappy: Particularly because you can taunt a healer and they can no longer heal anyone but themselves (w/o group heals), pretty useful.
