I've recently migrated here from SWG, and am considering going the way of the Inquisitor on Antonia Bayle.  Can someone give me a run-down on the pros and cons of this profession?

Not sure what you are looking for but here is something; (These are my viewpoints and may differ from anyone elses, depending on how you play) Healing: good Defense: medium Offensive: low Debuffing: good/medium Solobility: medium (mobs die of old age while you last) Groupability: good (healers are more then often welcomed, unless they have a bad rep)

From my perspective: Pros - Good healing, reactives are the easiest (but not the best) way to manage a tanks health. - Can wear almost any armour - Not many inquisitors compared to other classes. Gives us a novelty factor. - Nice debuffs and ok buffs. Makes it alot easier to keep a group alive. - Its cool being evil. Cons - Slow soloing with high amounts of interrupts - Lack utility and dps of most other priest classes - Alot of people dont know what an Inquisitor is.  Its amazing the number of times I have heard group say... Ok, now we just need a healer.

Inquisitors have some neat little secrets hiding under their shorts. The stunned looks of group members when they found out I could fear, root, stifle, soothe....etc. Priceless.

Priceless.

I found people the people most stunned when I told them I really can heal...

I actually just unpacked my old Cleric as well who will eventually be going Inquisitor.  She was actually my original character on Antonia Bayle before I gave up on her before 20 and started in on Saloma, my Wizard.  Recent shortages of healers in my guild have however started me in on building up my Cleric again.

Only thing I dont like is going back to ground zero from being at the top.  I guess i'm just so used to grouping with people that know the ins and outs of grouping that I'm not used to getting a group that doesnt know what a reactive heal is, or that they should taunt all mobs in a multi mob group.  I'm hoping I can get some guildies to start up some alts as well for me to play along with.  Would really streamline my progression.

When I get the chance to put Inquest on a ranger the groups complain that I'm not burning power.  When I tell them about the power transfer feature I get stunned silence.

My opinion..

Reactives/wards - poor-medium.. mehness.
Healing - very good. Average heal amount, very fast recast times ftw.
Dps - poor, although can be medium depending on how the mob fights.
Buffs - poor, good vs mental. Mental.. Mental..
Debuffs - medium. Have a lot, but nothing really stands out. See it as weak versions of other classes debuffs.
Soloability - medium. Play a templar if soloing is your thing SMILEY
Being from Freeport - Kicks [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. No [Removed for Content] horses. Best city layout.

HAHAHAHAHA, Oh my God that was hilarious. Seriously though, for anyone who might, God rest their poor ignorant soul, take that as being serious, think again. Templars are the worst soloers in the game, and Inquisitors definately are not SMILEY Basically, we are decent at everything, and amazingly good at nothing. and that's the way i like it. Inquisitors seem to leave some of the most room for a player's true talent to shine through. Some inquisitors play healer, and do nothing else. This only makes for a better contrast when I get into the group, and people are like, "holy [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn], you can solo heal the epics in rujark while still nuking and debuffing, without dropping under 80% power?"  Which I of course follow with, "Yes, now bow to me."

That's a lot of HAHA's.. SMILEY But nah, not hilarious. Suppose you have to see a 50+ templar solo tripple up encounters 1-3 levels higher than them to not find it funny SMILEY And no, i'm not crying nerf. Nor am I saying we should be able to ourselves. Just saying, they solo better than us. But I agree with what you say regardless regarding our room for talent, certainly there. And yes, we do pwn the power pool.

with respect, I have to disagree. Thats nice if a 51+ templar can solo a ^^^ whatever level, it has been repeated so many times that killing those kinds of mobs is no way effective for solo exp, it may be possible with some classes but at the end of the day it is not worth it other than for bragging rights. between the retribution line and the vengeance line (reverse damage shields) - as well as our other dots, an inquisitors dps crushes the templars. Especially when you get multiple mobs where you can throw in litany and heretics. (now we cant burn through grp encounters like a warlock lol.. but it takes ALOT to kill us) my 2 cents. to the original poster, the obvious pros and cons have been captured nicely by the previous posts. It's a great class, but i would advise another priest class (few inquisitors thus masters are relatively less $$$.. tee hee)
