I'm pretty curious as to what necromancer masters are floating around on the servers.

So give us a list as to what masters you've been lucky enough to get your claws on. I would prefer that you didn't list the ones you've seen on the broker... only because our minds are prone to exaggeration. I'm trying to gather some relevant information here about what's dropped and in what frequency.

Let's not turn this into a "Where did you get that?" thread. Personally, the masters I have, I got off friends and the brokers. Never seen a necromancer master actually drop (edit: Well, now I have, but I still didn't win it).

i must have some bad luck, only ever seen one master spell ever drop in a group and wasnt necro nor did i win and im almost 44

Deathly pallor master 1,

Shadowy assassin master 1, the 46.8 pet.

btw the shadowy destroyer, still has a down arrow, doest get flames, looks exactly the same as the adept1, has maybe half the hp of the thrall. or less. however, it consistently deals equal or greater damage than the thrall, nice dmg.. but still dies too fast =/

have 6 rubies for adept 3...most masters imho are not worth it unless you get em cheap..they dont scale correctly and adept 3 is just as good.

missed out on stench of the grave...

seen but not bought...terror, eternal binding,shadowy stalker, invisablity, grim spellbinder,

and you can see why i didnt buy em lol....

I have the 48.6 pet Grim Terror in the bank waiting for me. Only .10 to go, Woot, an after patch #7 I should be doing major damage.

Death's Coil Master, which really sucks. It does like 10 dmg more per tick then Adept 1 and its debuffs are exactly the same. I really hope SOE reevaluates Masters.

We should start a thread to show effects of Masters vs Adept 1s (with screenshots of the spells). Hopefully the devs will see and maybe consider doing something about Master effectiveness.

46 necro, i have a master giant, golem, orc, skelly and one other i gorgot about, but i do have an adept 3 plague of rats siphon life and sooth servant

we're talking about Necro specific masters, not the enemy mastery strikes...I passed up the Sac Heart for 2p on Befallen yesterday if that counts :smileytongue:

Master Revivication is on the market now....but no way am I buying it SMILEY I wonder what the upgrade would be? maybe double the mana cost and leave people at 2% health/power or something....

Masters that I have and still use at 46:

Pestilential Blast (yes, it's grey but even grey it outdamages my Adept III Skinrot - great upgrade!)

Unholy Covenant (+384 HP +288 Power group buff)

Chains of Torment (waste of money! Adds 14-17 damage to initial attack and 2 points per tick to subsequent ticks. No change in power cost, level range, duration, casting time or any aspect of the root)

There are 3-4 others that I have long since forgotten about such as Petrify, which was a true upgrade.

Only ones I commonly see on the broker/fence are Grisly Brace or one of the useless root spells.

3 master pets - twas nice ... and the cool thing was that I got them when I needed them.

Have been working pretty hard on getting new masters, but seems the market has dried up with any good ones. Heres my list from Najiena server level 37 necro atm

Masters

Dark Heart - love this one, very nice mana conversion ratio

Grim Thulian - waste of money due to pets current status looks like corrupter

Locust Swarm - not bad spell

Horrific Mark

Necrotic Mending

Grisly Stele

Skinrot

Accursed Cloud

Death's Coil

Eternal Bindings

Would love to get more but money is gone now... darn SoE and crafting nerfs !

Found both on the broker, funny thing was the rotting thrall master was a little less than half the price of two adept 3 thralls that were for sale at the same time. I jumped for joy considering how long I'll be using that pet ( I'm 39 now ). Looks the same as the adept 3, but he's called Rotting Champion, and He is a big boy SMILEY

I would've had Grim Terror Master I, but a scam artist on my server got ahold of it. The going price was 9pp and items...I was not willing to pay that much...I had the money...but thats ridiculous - keep in mind this was after the crafting nerf. I don't know what the economy is like on the servers that you guys play - but it wasn't too good on Oasis at the time.

I would just like to let all you guys know - If the level cap is raised in the expansion, there's going to be more new masters to get, so - a word from the wise - dont blow all your money on masters that you wont use much or at all - it just doesnt make sense.

Regarding masters, they are good. When the combat changes come in, they are going to be godly.

Just got Convulse last night and put it in the bank, as I have a ways off to go before scribing it. I saw another on a vendor the other day, but being 2p50g, it was not high up on the priority list SMILEY

masters are a joke,,not worth the money i have 6 masters and i have all adept 3 now,,i noticed the upgrade from adept 3 to master 1 is so nominal,,like 1 % in most cases,and yes you still get resists form masters..its not worth it go with adept 3,always they own,,masters are a joke,although master 3 maybe good...
