Would this duo work well?  My wife plays a fury and I currently play a troub, but I am considering switching over to an illusionist.

Any comments would be appreciated.  Thanks.

It would probably work great.  With your persona as a tank and your wife healing it.

I think you'd have a hard time keeping aggro on the pet and away from you or the wife.  But you should be ok if you use your root to keep the mob where it is and force it to pay attention to the Personae.

Do you think the fury/troub combo would work better for us then?

This would be a fantastic duo.  Heals for personae are good due to the fact that we cannot heal our personae.  My wife is a warlock and we also do a fantastic job duoing.

I've never palyed a troub so I'm not sure, but I think illusionist/fury would work quite well using the tactic mentioned by Mills. Use the pet to pull and tank and just keep the mob rooted near it.  You'd have to change your tactics a bit for multi mob encounters of course, but there's loads of single mobs out there. Of course a tank of some sort would always be a bit more optimal if you're looking for an easy duo...

Uh... did you read my second sentence?!  heh.  Maybe I wasn't clear enough... Either him or his wife will probably be on top of the hate list, but root will keep it from getting to them.

I often group with a Troubador in our guild, some of our skills seem quite similar.

Aria and Intensity both proc nukes on hostile spells, but Aria is a group version.

Power regens seems similar, and they stack.

Troubs get a mez and a charm.

Troub can probably tank at least as well or better than our Personae, can probably hold aggro better too.

With Troub you also get Track, Escape.

I think either class would work well with a Fury.  Try putting Aria up when she has her damage shield on you...

To be honest, Troubs have it pretty good since the revamp, I'd suggest sticking with it unless you really feel like a change.

I suspect that with Fury and Illusionist duo it would be well worth trying to grab a stray Fighter type to join you.  I find having to control a pet can be a drag if you are not into pets, and using a non-tanking pet to tank still has its limitations.

Troubs get a grp spell proc similar to our dynamism spell(only thiers is better) and it stacks. Theres nothing better than casting a 1 second dot and seeing 2 procs for 250 and 400 go off.....or AEing with a stun and doing 1000+ dmg SMILEY In grps with troubs Illusionist dps increases by about 30-40% due to the quick casting time of all of our spells/nukes. I parsed in grp situation(all fighting was done against lvl57-59 giants in PoF) for about 7 hrs with a troub and about 20 hours without and the avg increase was 38.6% higher.
