LABS and Relic Armor?

I've just gotten back from about a 6 month break, and while I'm browsing the forums, I see people talking about a zone called LABS and Relic Armor?

Would anyone be kind enough to explain what these are and their significance?

Labs = Laboratory of Lord Vyemm

Relic armor - drops of trash mobs in Lab and Lyceum and Halls of Seeing.

Four types drop - Relic cloth, leather, chain, and plate. One for each armor slot (head, chest, legs, forearms, shoulders, feet, gloves). You take the relic piece, along with a various number of a specific jewels (vary from class to class) for each piece (the jewels are random trash mob drops in KoS zones) and you give the jewels and relic piece to an NPC fire giant in Sol Eye.

He gives you your class specific finished armor piece back to you. You will need to look up which relic pieces require which gems.

If you played eq1, its velious armor 2.0

Labs is abbreviation of Laboratory of Lord Vyemm - a tier 7 raiding instance above halls of fate building in Bonemire.Relic drops are components needed to make Tier 7 Class specific Fabled Armour by going down into Sol Eye and getting them made by Nagafens Armorsmith.

Laboratory of Lord Vyemm. At the start of KoS expansion this zone used to drop Relic armor off of every trash mob. Relic armor is no-trade peices that can be turned into class specific items with the correct stones. The stones are very common, and can usually drop off of any mob in KoS. Relic armor is a good upgrade from high tier 6 fabled and decent armor in KoS. The Breastplate and Legs are the special peices because they usually have affects on them that can reduce the casting time, or reuse on a certain skill. The helm for every priest but the Defiler has FT8 and same for the casters.

As of late though relic drops are more rare because there were too easy to obtain. And for some reason thats a No-no at SoE headquarters. Relic armor is very nice to have though.

Relic drops in all instanced raid zones including Halls of Seeing. However it only drops off nameds in HoS.
