Rangers,

Please go to this link and add your thoughts, comments.  Especially if you solo alot.  Add your voice to this post if you feel some of the changes of 13 September had a negitive effect on our class.

Thanks,

okay, okay  so don't flame me, cause I burn easilly, but having played all of last night in DofF with the new combat changes, mainly soloing, I think the new changes have really IMPROVED our ability to solo, not necessarily in exp gained, I really don't care about that, but just in pure enjoyment of playing the game and being a ranger.

Anything that was blue solo or lower only got to hit me a couple of times, normally it was dead from my opening arrow volleys before it got to me.

White even cons were more interesting..  sometimes I had to shift fom offensive stance to defensive stance during the fight, but there was excitement and a sense of achievement.

Yellow solo cons  were just exhillerating  and yes I hd to evac a couple of times..  that's what its for  but on the couple of occaisions I beat it, I was like whooping round the room.

Grouping was wonderful...  Ranger DPS is stunning and with three poisons stacked  we own the damage on the mob..  we just have to keep throwing in anti-hate moves and have a good tank.

So overall, I loved it...  played 3 hours solo  got 10% towards lvl 51, harvested a rare  and had a blast.

As a tip..  now that encounter locking has gone, you may want to try what we did as a guild last night...  went to sinking sands  with each class type in a circle..  each character then took a mob solo  with everyone else waiting to jump in/heal or whatever in case it went wrong..  this allowed each class to try all their new spells and combat arts to determine how they worked.  Took about an hour for people to kill, rinse and repeat, but at the end of it,  everybody now has a fundamental understanding of how their class works now and no-one is anything but positive.

Regards

  • "A player can have one Poison from each category active at the same time. This means a Rogue or Predator can have a damage poison active, a resist debuff poison active, and a miscellaneous debuff poison active (anything other than a resist reduction or damage). Any or all of these three have a chance to proc during an attack. "

    HIyaSMILEY

Sure can,  after the combat update we can now stack three poisons on our weapon which can all proc independantly, as long as the three we use are all  from a diffferent type.   1 damage, 1 debuff and 1 miscellaneous  (like a stun).

Before, no matter how many you stacked, only one could go off..  now  I have sen  a stun, debuff and poison hit all together  which drops the mob like a rockSMILEY

Poisons are your friend,  by them and use themSMILEY
