I am running a 4 box. I just dont know what I should do.

Current Group

72 Paladin

42 Fury

41 Wizard

36 Illusionist

I currently use the illusionist mostly as a buff bot, was wondering what people think, would switching out to a necromancer be better. Couple Lifeburn and Manaburn together? Or should I switch to warlock and Illusionist.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also what are some good places for a lvl 40 to get experience fast, been doing klakanon and lavastorm but they seem slow compared to the RE days.

Thanks.

Personally I think your nuts. Also think you loose some of the enjoyment of the game by 4 boxing. But if that is what you want to do...

Stick with Paladin for your MT. It would be a shame to give that up.

Wizard is a good dependable single target damage source. Warlock would be a decent replacement because of the better AE spells. It really isn't necessary though. Wizard is slightly better because you have access to escape.

Power becomes a concern as you want to level quickly. Sticking with illusionist gives you a power buff. Also illusionists have a group invis, don't they? It doesn't sound like your using the illusionist as a mezzer, but eventually you'll want to. It is just too darn handy in a bad situation. Also with proper proc gear your illusionist becomes a top tier nuker. Summery: keep the illusionist.

Fury: why a fury? Fury is a compramise between healing and nuking. You don't need more nuking. You need a healer. You also don't need ports since you have a wizard. Group invis can be covered by the illusionist if I'm right. I'd suggest trading out the Fury for either shaman, templar or warden. The shaman group wards are great. While they have problems actually healing lost health your palaind can make up for that. Shaman debuffs would be a great help. Templar reactive heals plus big straight heals are good. Also templars and shaman both have great buffs to keep your tank going. Wardens over fury because they have better regen, plus a proc regen plus a healing pet. Warden is all about healing.

One more reason for a shaman or templar over a druid is equipment. Druids only use leather armor. Shaman can use chain or leather. Templar can use all armor types in game. Since you probably will be farming mobs for equipment, being able to use anything that drops will help a lot. As you'll never expect your healer to solo, mittigation isn't a real concern. Pick the best drops to fit the best slot. Plate...if its really good the paladin should get it first. Chain...with your current set up its vendor loot.

So my opinion, change your healer. Well, or stop 4 boxing.

Well at times I 6 box and my group consists of the following:  Paladin, Templar, Wizard, Conjuror, Warden, Swashbuckler.   I have 6 boxed in EQ1 and EQ2 and currently all 6 are level 77 almost 78.  I left the game for over a year and just returned a few weeks ago.  Normally I run 4 while my friend runs 2 but if he's not on I just run all 6 myself.  I think you should have a Templar instead of the Fury as they match up better with a plate tank unless you are using the Fury for group invisibility which I use my Swashie for.  Also I would go with a Conjuror rather then the Necro as I prefer the pets and call of hero.  Also Conjuror group buffs are better then Necro.  As to not enjoying because of multi boxing thats funny, I play when I want, don't have to worry about loot or waiting for people and if I want to raid I normally single box so where is the loss of enjoyment?

i think they meant you lose out on the full capability of each char.  i find this to be true even 2boxing.  that and i cant seem to find the right combo. i am hoping my illus will partner well with my SK cuz i really want to lvl the illus and SK anyway lol.  i agree as to ditching the fury.  betray to warden, and if you are worried about home city being different, as a neutral class you can betray right back to your original starting city and keep your toons together still.  my wizzy betrayed from FP to FP twice while trying out as a warlock lol.

It's true you don't get to use full capabilities but I find working 1 character bores me to death.  I have 4 boxed raids including Labs, Deathtoll, Lyceum and done extremely well.  My friend and I do every Heroic instance with just the 2 of us so its great for loot runs and we have a great time.  Sure I have to play my characters differently but thats all it is different.  My healers are focused strictly on healing with some small debuffs while my wizard and conjuror really focus on damage and my paladin is maxed on survivability.  Again maybe I don't use every little skill but it definitely is enjoyable and a different way to play.
