So...

I am guessing at some point they are going to introduce PvP..

What do you think will happen when they do?

Also As a Pally now how do you think we would fare against other classes with our current skillset? Imagine PvP was available now and tell me what advantages you think you would have and what disadvantages you would have...

Who would be your most feared oponent and why?

Who do you think you could beat and why?

Would you feel confident as a Pally if PvP was launched say tommorow?

Discuss....

i dont think its gonna be any time soon, but i welcome PvP. as an exSWGer, i was a big fan of pvp. as far as your questions, i would be confident. were probably the most well rounded class. tanking, healing, and damage. ive heard that in wow, paladins are 2nd best pvp class, only inferior to rogues

Will always come down to the player abilities. There will be classes with the obvious advantages, and then the infamous Sony balancing acts will happen /sigh. I think we'll be pretty decent.

I certainly hope not.

Moorgard and others have stated multiple times they have no plans to add PVP any time soon or anytime in the future either. This is a PVE game. If you want PVP go elsewhere. While it is possible they may add it some day, I would not hold my breath.

Who knows if it will be added or not. I don't particularly mind either way but to answer the question of..."Who would be your most feared oponent and why?"Based on the PVP I did in EQ1 I learnt the following.Shadowknight - I probably would have won but forgot about the old Harm Touch. You see you can wait till you hit 25% then lay on hands to make the Shadowknight easy pickings, but given he could finish you as soon as you hit 75% or less with a single harm touch, lay on hands never got to be used.Bard - I killed our guild leader bard, but only because you we didn't allow the use of dots as that would cause exp loss. If the bard had the dots available I'd never have made it. Problem was that [FaarNerfed!] selos...couldn't get near enough to hit the lady! The only way I could do it was to cast me stuns, but mana is not unlimited unfortunately. Plus you don't half get dizzy.Wizzie - Spam those stuns and make sure you have resists high, then they're not so hard. Low resists and you'll suffer just as badly as a to a shadowknight with harm touch. Can't really say though for EQ2 as it's only through trying to fight them that you really get to know strengths/weaknesses, and of course no PvP means no chance to find out!

PvP... I think Pallys would do rather well...  There heals are nice, there dmg is ok...  But Rogues would own this realm...  There DPS is insane....

Umm not really. They have some hard hits but their overall dps isn't that impressive (speaking of mid 30's). Perhaps you're talking at like level 50.

I think paladins would do well vs any class that cannot drain power.  Wards + heals,  I think we'd be a challenge to bring down.

I hate pvp,  but I have to admit it was pretty fun taking my paladin in eq1 against my wizard friend.  Stuns and flash of light were a hoot.  I had to use LoH,  but eventually kept him stunned and rooted and blinded enough where I could lay the smack down.

These same people that are telling you there will be no pvp, told all the people in EQOA the same thing for a long time. Then they put it in. Nothing is a for-sure thing. And btw, my pally rocked in PvP in that game. The warriors were also very formidable. Any added content is a plus.

Rogues damage is very positional, they have few frontal attacks.

I find with my ranger, although i can do some fantastic damage, it has to be from behind or side. When soloing i only have about 4 moves i can do when in melee none of them great. From what i have read all scouts are like this.

I think pvp would work best with an open faction based pvp system, i.e. SK can attack Paly any time vica versa. This would allow scout classes to hunt their prey more effectively and over all give the game a more competitive fractioning system. Personally, I don’t welcome pvp because EQ2 is a very chill game, it’s not hyper competitive which I find to be relaxing and more fun. If there ever is pvp introduced, I probably won’t mess with it unless it’s forced on the players and I don’t think that will ever happen.

I'm a big fan of pvp but I'm not sure that I want to see it in EQ2.  A lot of class balance issues are brought up when you are fighting other players and the end results usually end up being just a bunch of nerfs.  I don't get the feeling that EQ2 designed it's subclasses with pvp in mind, therefore, I forsee a great big mess and a lot of whining if pvp is ever introduced to the game.

PvP would definately eliminate how pointless it is have a "good" and "evil" side to choose from.

I think we would do quite well.  a few things though,  one  kiting,  not so much a problem after lvl 30, as we do have some deent dmage long range divine damage attacks.

2)  casters,  oh we hate them,  even caster mobs.   but that is a power race  if we are alive when they run out of pwoer,  game over for em.   but stayin alive is the tricky part.  stun is your friend.
