Disparity between scribing and examine?

Ok, I had DoF app 2 earlier. Examining it in my hot bar, it said it uses 49 power. I seen a DoF Adept 1 for sale, examined it - 46 Power.

I bought the Adept 1, scribed it then checked it again - now it tells me it uses 55 power. What gives?

This is according to what I've read in various other posts on this forum, but basically, when you examine the scroll, it doesn't give you the right number. Once you've scribed it, the power is reworked according to your level and abilities, and then you see the final number.

Yes, the thought had crossed my mind, but I had a hunch that it may not be a bug.
