I'm currently level 23.4 and my defense is 122 according to my skill panel.

- Slate protective Stance (training soldier's stance) gives me 6 points of defense, taking me to 128

- Hunker Down Adept 3 is listed as giving 8 defense and it indeed does when casted by itself (no S.P.S. up), taking me to 130

- With Slate up (12SMILEY and casting Hunker Down, I was expecting to get 136 (if math is not an opinion), but it still caps to 130

Question: is there a cap on skills based on levels or is just a bug of spell stacking?
They seem to stack as HD gives a benefit (+2 def) even under S.P.S. effect, if there was a stacking issue my guess is that I shouldn't see any difference after casting HD.

Hope you can clarify this, maybe it's a known issue/feature, otherwise I'm gonna /bug it tonight.

Hunker is just a low level spell, I don't think it is indeded to stack with higher level buffs, so it doesn't. IMHO this is not a bug but a design choice, certain buffs just don't stack.

Most of your defense buffs dont stack.  The ones that do stack (and the only ones you will ever use when you get them) are the "Call of" line and the "Do or Die" line.

So you think it's normal they stack partially? I mean they should stack or not stack, something partially working is at the very least suspect. Also HD doesn't get upgrades at higher levels (reason why I made the adept 3 together with HtL).

Slate's is an orange skill, while HD is yellow at my level, the latter gives 2 points of defense on top of the first (and they make quite a difference from personal experience so far). Even using Soldier stance instead of HD I have the same results, with a small difference: Slate's alone gives me 128 defense, Soldier Stance 127 (it's adept I, compared to the adept 2 quality of the training option, so predictable), and even here when I use HD on top of Soldier's Stance I still get 130, in this case HD gives me 3 points of defense.

I find the whole thing worth an investigation, for whatever is worth I sent a /bug, may never know SMILEY

Its not partial stacking.  The bigger one completely overrides the other.  This has been discussed on the board for quite some time and has been proven to be true.  In your example Hunker Down is providing your total defense buff giving you 130 def...  Cast it on its own and you will also be at 130.  When you get Call of Command (adept 1 or higher) it is the only one you will be casting and the other 3 arts will never be cast again.
