![]() I 2 box 2 accounts. The servers went down today at 3:00 central time (1:00 pacific) for a hotfix. Wingading (on this account) has a research sanctum that I have been using for months with all my crafting machines, apprentices, etc. for all my toons. Almost every toon on both accounts have trustee access to that house. At 2:55 central, I camped Lasiah in Wingading's research sanctum for the hotfix and everything was just fine with that house at that point. I logged back in around 5:45 p.m on Lasiah and entered an empty research sanctum. Thinking I had a bugged house, I took lasiah to the guild hall and then tried to return to the house thru the Portal to Housing; however, it was not an option for her anymore. With that, I brought in Wingading on the other computer. It shows that Wing still has that house BUT everything had been packed into the moving crate AND everything that was on the access tab was cleared to nothing and visitors was set to none. This apparently happened with the hotfix. Now..just so I don't leave anything out, someone tried to hack this account yesterday. While I was sitting in my guild hall on a toon on my other account, Wingading logged in in front of me. When I started yelling at the person who was on my account, he camped. I immediately changed the password. With whatever has happened today, nothing, with regards to plat, reactants, etc., appears to be missing. My questions are: Did anyone else have this problem after the hot fix today? How did they manage to get into my account yesterday? And did that have anything to do with why we had a hot fix today? Very frustrated atm. I even have Wing's house layout saved but it wouldn't let me reset it. It said it didn't work for that house. Needed to vent. Hope to see some type of answers here. Thanks for listening. Gnostra/Wingading |

![]() Never use the same password for your account that you use ANY OTHER PLACE, including other forums. Use a combination of UPPER CASE, lower case, $peci@l ch@r@cter$, and number5. Do NOT use ANY word that can be found in a dictionary. Use no less than 8 characters. L#*sy?^>Pr}u$f(Nbr$r@ Something like that. Completely random. I use my Windows 7 sticky notes to copy/paste my pw into the field so it can never be keylogged (I have never even been infected in 12 years of computer use). Even using the Start>Accessories>Ease of Use>On Screen Keyboard, makes it impossible for someone to key log your pw. It is good practice to change your password regularly. My past colleges' networks were set to force you to change your password every 3 or 4 months, and it couldn't be any password you used in the past. MMOG security teams should take note of this. As far as the house, ask a GM.

![]() Your account has been - and probably still continues to be - compromised. The fact you had someone log into your account at all leads me to believe that it's no bug with an update but someone got caught before getting a chance to get the bank cleanead out or whatever else their up to. If you're being keylogged on the machine you're changing your pw on for instance, they'll have your new password everytime you change it. At this point you probably want to be proactive in protecting whats yours and get ahold of SOE support by phone and make sure they know what's going on in case the next pw change isn't one done by you. |
