I have 3 90's and alts in verious stages of lvling in a attempt to have one of every class and make eq2 a long term project.

My latest is a Human berzerker, this is odd because I never make human characters in a MMORPG, because in my opnion its about fantasy, and they seem too everyday.

I made her however, and am very happy with her. To my suprise she turned out to be a apealing and even nice looking toon that developed her own personality in my mind rather quickly.

Having three 90's already I decided I would do something fun and diffrent with her, and thats lvl lock her at 85 so she can fly via marketplace wings and yet get all the 80 shard gear, the 80 epic weapon and all the 80 stuff.

I could also get the AA I never manage to get by 90 with my other characters.

This is a exciting idea, have any of you ever attempted this, any thoughts?

I am only on my second (and third because I'm leveling my brothers char on his account at the same time) character, and I'm planning/doing the same. My brothers char (warden) was about level 65/100AA when he quit, and I leveled him to 77/170AA on a double xp weekend (his account was f2p so slider was locked) before I started my second character (also a zerker!). My plan is to get them both to 80 and level lock them until I get their epics. I then plan to get them both to 85 and get the epic buffs from the epic repercussions quests. I then plan to level lock until 280AA although I may decide to go straight to 90 and then mentor down to get the AAs with the better gear. I am enjoying it very much and my zerker is nearly the same level as my brothers char. My only disappointment is that I quickly got to the same AA number on my zerker as my brothers char, and as I didn't want one to have much more than the other (no point one hitting cap if the other has loads to go, as I'm 2 boxing), I've had to put the slider to 0AA and I know once I hit 80 I could spend 100+ AAs that I won't have stored up.

Or do crafting to level 85 to be able to fly and then level adventure.

One of the things I do to differentiate is getting different mounts or colors for my alts. From expansions, aether races, tradeskill, adventuring. Only recently I started level locking those not 92 every 10 levels to get AAs and explore content.

It's not really worth it.

With 85 you outleveled all the 80 shard gear and mobs already, there is gear in DoV I think, that you can already use with 85 and all of the dungeons and quests will be way too easy to be any fun.

If at all, you should lock at 80 and do all the stuff, but that's also not really worth it since you will most likely decide sooner or later to go to endgame with that char which makes everything else obsolete.

If you have a few people around you that would do the same, lock with you at 80, it could really be fun, though.

TSO is still my very favourite Addon for EQ2, I even use the TSO skin for the forums... =D

If I locked at 80 and got crafting up to 85 I could still fly with market place wings though right?

Believe so..(to post above.)

One of my favorite looking mounts is still the Rime horse from Kunark (faction grind.)

They should slap some matching wings or something on it and release it on sc or as a quest.  SMILEY

That is my favorite horse too.  As for wings pffft.  They need to let us use anything as appearance for flying.  There are plenty of flying through the sky horses in the game and everything else sheesh  what is the hold up on this ???

I can't stand crafting so leveling to 85 in that would bore me to death. I am trying to get my adorning skill up on one character because I'm too cheap to buy a gazillion adorns at 92 but I'm really struggling to spend time on even that. The highest TS I have is level 29! I keep telling myself to max a tradeskill on a double xp weekend but I prefer leveling up an alt in adventure xp instead.
