![]() I really can't stand any more of that synthesised 'AGGGHHHHhhh' that plays in North Qeynos and various other places around Norrath it sounds absolutely terrible I love North Qeynos but you are going to make me end up hating it as much as the Guild Halls music if you don't change it Why can't you just set it to the old one And please please please give us a guild hall music slider as i like most of the music

![]() What, exactly, would a "guild hall music slider" even do? You mean a seperate volume control specifically for music inside guild halls? You want them to add a new UI element just because you don't happen to like some of the game's music? |

![]() Yes exactly that - guild halls are visited so often over years and it's a shame to turn the rest of the music off To be honest what I would like would be the music in some format that I can simply remove certain files off if I don't like them, like EQ1 had with it's mp3 files

![]() I know money is a problem with making the music but look at some of the amazing zone music the everquest franchise has had over the years http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U236VVmZC9g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duuRAomjxNI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aWGG7e0tBA

![]() actually, you can create a folder in your UI files, duplicate the music folder and subfolder names and put another music for any gven zone if you name it the exact same way as the original music file. For example, if you have EQ2map, rename whatever music into QEYNOS_GUILDHALL.mp3 and put it in the UI folder with the path below: UIEQ2MAPmusiczonesGuildhallsQEYNOS_GUILDHALL.mp3 |

For years I have been sliding my music up and down each time I entered the guild hall! You just made my year! So I just put an mp3 that is 0kb in there with that name and it will no longer play? Thanks again!

![]() Mmmh, you need to create empty folders but I'm not 100% certain it goes in UI tbh. I never used it so I'm going to check around a bit and edit. EDIT: may have found the perfect way to do it http://www.eq2interface.com/downloa...sicManager.html And found out the walkthrough to do it by hand. I was right to be dubious about the location in UI, it needs to be done in a new folder named "custom_music" in the main EQ2 directory. I'm copying the thread infos here: Othesus@Lucan DLere wrote: You don't need any special program. You just need to make a folder called custom_music. Here are the instructions grabbed from a Google cache: http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cach...ssage.id%3D2125 1.) First create a new folder under your main everquest2 folder and name the folder custom_music do not put it under your music folder. Doing this will cause all mp3's to be overwritten by the original sound track when the game is being patched. So it should read C : program files/Sony/Everquest II/ custom_music. 2.) To take a look at the music files that are already there go in into your music folder under eq2 make sure to select all file types for you will not see the file listing under program files. You will see three headings when open that folder combat , xmi (which gives you a sneak peak of new mp3's that have been added for new game content) and Zones under which you will see the eq2theme.mp3 there as well and any of your first experience Mp3's will be sitting outside of these folders. Whichever zone you want to change and add your own Mp3 , make sure to note exactly how the file is listed for you will need to type this exactly when replacing it under your custom _ui folder. Under combat you have many files there but few that are often used in game, take a listen and you will know which are more frequent than others. Replacing them all would be tedious although not necessary know that your combat music will be played randomly between that of which you replaced and that you have not changed. 3.) You need to put your zone mp3's in the zone folder. ( i.e. you have your favorite Mp3 by Moby you want to use it for everfrost.mp3 in the zone folder. You simply copy your selected Mp3 you desire and paste in your zone folder under Custom_music folder you just created. Rename the mp3 everfrost.mp3 ) 4.) Added Note: when you look in your music folder you saw a file called eqtheme.mp3 if you want to change your intro music then you need to keep this file outside of the folders you created in your custom_music folder. So it will stand alone whichever mp3 you decide to put there and rename eq2theme.mp3 Overview Anything you see in the zone folder you want to replace and put in your custom _music folder you must put it in the zone folder you created under your custom_music folder , and so on and so forth with combat.... Double check to make sure spelling is accurate as well and all hyphens, underscores and secound counts are captured. 6. ) Now you are ready to load up eq2 with your own custom music. This i hope would answer any questions and save you some frustrations. Message Edited by musicalie on 05-20-2006 09:33 PM Or in shorter sentences : 1.) Find some Mp3s you would like to be in-game music. 2.) Go to your EQ2 folder usually C:/Program Files/Everquest2/ 3.) Create a folder called 'custom_music' 4.) Create a folder inside that folder called 'zones' 5.) Go to C:/Program Files/Everquest 2/Music/zones 6.) Find the name of the zone you wish to replace 7.) Go back to C:/Program Files/Everquest 2/custom_music/zones 8.) Name your MP3 the name of the zone and place it in this folder. 9.) Login and go to the zone whose music you replaced 10.) Rock out! |
