Update #35: Increasing Character Slots

The EverQuest II team is extremely happy to announce the following addition for update #35, expected to launch toward the end of May.

Coinciding with the release of the dark elven city of Neriak as well as the new race to be found therein, the Arasai, your EQ2 and/or Station Access account will be gaining at least one new character slot.

We will be adding one slot to the standard EverQuest II subscription, increasing the base number of character slots available to 7.

Station Access members also see their limit increase by an additional slot.

To summarize, with update #35 the EQ2 subscription plans will have slots available as follows:

Standard EQ2 Subscription: 7 character slots
Station Access Subscription: 12 character slots

Good hunting, be it in Darklight Wood or elsewhere.

This is great news - thank you!!! How will this affect those of us on the pvp servers that have extra slots due to the merge?

Good question. Your exception cap will still remain fixed at 12. So if you have more than seven characters on a normal account, you won't see a change or new slot in line.

I do appreciate very much the increase

I think you guys need a EQ2 only option with more than 12 though. I'd pay for it

Now i'm paying for Station Access just to get the additional slots

Look at your competitors. less classes and they offer more. Only way in EQ2 to truely experience a character is after L40 and that is little hard to delete

how many other players out there just have station access to gain the additional slots, you should run a poll

Just so I know I read that right...

Normal accounts it will be 6+1 = 7

Station All Access it will be 6+4+1+1

Correct?

I have a question, my husband and I have been subscribing to station access for several months now, but we only have ten slots, are now supposed to have 11? ((Really excited by Neriak, can't wait to create some characters that come from the city /wiggle))

your suppose to have twelve when GU 35 comes out.

Really glad to hear it! I was stressing over which character to delete to make room for my Arasai. On a related note, I'd been pondering the character slot issue lately, and was thinking SOE should offer addition character slots much like they offer the advanced website features. $1 - $2 a slot for those of us not really interested in any of the other Station games.

I am a newcomer to this great game and must admit I was curious how SoE would handle the popular uprising. I am impressed; not only the new content sums up to about what others force you to pay as an "expansion" but you will also get a new extra slot to test the new race. Outsanding.

This is great news. Do you know what would be even better than extra character slots? If the servers could actually stay up rather than crashing several times a day. That would be awesome.
