Hi

Just got back to the game, noticed that my Int gear form my Sk was garbage...

Read the official patch notes http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=470271

and there was nothing there about it (or about anything else remotely usefull)

Are the updated patch notes or I will just have to go bumping into changes ?

And no one thought this might be a good idea to put in the patch notes? Are there any other changes that weren't deemed important enough to put in the notes? There are a lot of people that do not read these boards after all.

So SF wasn't a Game Update?

I think the point here is that some mechanics are completely revamped and there's not a peep about them in the two pages of update notes linked above.

Actually SF was the expansion and GU 55 was released the same day.  Hence the GU 55 notes that were posted SMILEY

As a MMO player I avoid forums, boards, guilds, tells, delivery people, small rats, germs, heights, milk, crowds, nudity, being alone, needles,  mushrooms (and mushroom-related life), enclosed spaces, harmonicas, tunnels, bullies, bullets (and other fast-moving objects that may be classified as projectiles), public speaking, pajamas, fish, elevators, puppies, and John Smedley.

I totally understand why MMO players would not pick up on things from other people / forums.  I can see the OP's point that these mechanics changes were part of the GU and should have been in the patch notes but I don't recall a list of primary stats being in my original release box either, so maybe there was no need to update.  Patch notes don't usually contain specific formulas either - usually just hints!

I see, so the wholesale changes to how stats and resists function are part of the expansion and not the GU, and therefore not included in the GU notes and that's why they're not mentioned. Hmm. Didn't see them mentioned on the SF box either. Oh well. Just seems like something worth passing on to the players.

EDIT: You know as well as I do that the GU update notes and the expansion notes are one and the same. It's one post. So clearly you're just mocking, which is fine. I love a good nitpick. The notes indicate that it is actually called "Game Update: Sentinel's Fate", not Game Update 55. Teasing and deflection aside though, the point still stands. When changes as drastic as these are made, some passing mention by the development team seems warranted. While the guide you linked to on Zam is great, it just seems logical that things like primary stats and consolidated resists would be mentioned by the development team rather than relying on a 3rd party site to communicate the change to the general populace. Particularly if they take the time (and it had to take some considerable time) to list out quest by quest the minute changes to quests in Butcherblock et al.

Reckless?  According to you, you are not an MMO player then being on these forums SMILEY~

However, to help others out, I found a nice write up on the expansion located at Zam.  I hope that this helps a bit SMILEY

You know its been brought up before but I thought I would just post it here again.

The Hybrid classes will be affected by this change.  Maybe not right now but when raid time comes we will.

Bards used AGI and INT gear.  Now that INT doesnt do anything for us we asked to have our gear status adjusted.

The retort to this request was " It would be like itemeizing an entire new expansion worth of gear."

Come on.  Its really not going to be that hard for you to do this.

RUN query on gear tagged Dirge - Troub, Shadow Knight - Paladin

If Item stats contain the words INT replace with WIS.

Yes I am over simplifying the process but you get the idea.

I say WIS because its not going to be that difficult for us to cap AGI.  But now that WIS affects resists this would help alot.

Its not impossible.  Its not as time consuming as you would make it out to be.

ITS NEEDED.

Trusting someone on forums to have accurate information yields about as much success as asking a blind woman to decorate your house.

For every item of information that is truthful and accurate here, there are atleast 5 things that are wrong or misleading.

The existance of forums does not trump the need for clear change communcation.

I agree ... It seems many things went in undocumented with the GU.

It is like the people who cheat at notpr0n!

I sorta kinda don't want much of an itemized list.  I mean sure, changing the meaning of int is important.  I can see the point of that going in some patch notes someplace.  But anyone to whom such changes matters probably have zam and eq2i bookmarked =)

In all fairness, to judge by my experiences in MMOs over the years and listening to channel chatter, very few people read the freaking patch notes, either.

This stuff (and more) SHOULD have been included in the patch notes, yes, but I guarantee there would still be hundreds of folks spamming the same questions in-game and posting the same questions over and over and over again, on the forums.

This is too true....  I am still hearing people ask how to get to the Battlegrounds...

As for more notes on the subject, I have asked for more info already SMILEY  I was just kinda teasing some people SMILEY

There should not be a need to ask for more info .. When they make Major mechanics changes there should at least be a basic explaination about what changed.

Why can we have notes that include "Finding Gloln Kilnkor - Quest text altered. " that include nothing about actualy mechanics changes ?

Altered text in a quest that most people didnt even know existed is more important ..... ?

There's already a thread asking for a summary of what changes were made.

I'm working on putting one together.

We really didn't need another thread on this.

Good day.
