It's EverQuest II's 4th Birthday and you're invited to a party! Don your most festive attire and commemorate the event with us in the Community Lounge, where you can share celebratory food and drink, enjoy the confetti machine, dance along with the maestro, and even have a pillow fight. Plus, you never know who might pop in to join in the fun!

Kiara, Amnerys and Grimwell from SOE's Community Relations team will be hosting these special events according to the schedule at the linked page. Just see what date and time they'll be on your server, look out for one of them to log in, then send them a /tell saying, "I want to party!" and you'll be summoned to the celebration.

* Dates and times subject to change. Every server will have a party, but in case of an emergency reschedule, notice will be given for the new party date and time.

Just out of curiosity.. how are these going to work on the PvP servers? Holding them in each city seperately? If it's a non-combat zone, we old schoolers tend to refer to those as "Tea Parties" SMILEY

LOL Tea Party.... Now this sounds like a real party, anyone for some drunken boxing???????

Hoping we can all party together instead of in separate cities.

I believe you have to be teleported there; it doesn't have in-world access points.

And there's nothing wrong with tea parties.  =)

It will still be in the community lounge.

I'm thinking it'll be a non combat agreement and if anyone is found breaking that, *I* get to kill them * smiles sweetly *

How long will the party last?   My server starts an hour before I get home from work.  I hope they last a few hours at least.

I am looking forward to a fantastic party.

I find this somewhat disrespectful of SoE to hold some of these events on Remembrance Day (November 11th).  This is the day in which Canada has chosen to honor its veterans (anniversary of the armistace that ended the first World War), and IIRC, in the USA you call it Veteran's day, so it's something down there too.  I know we take it a lot more seriously up here than most of you do down there (my brother lives in the 'states, and he's reported such), but it's a BIG DEAL up here, and holding ANY other type of event on that day up here would be totally anathema.

Very bad call guys.  I'm not on the servers that this is occurring to, but it's still very bad taste to hold something like this on that day.  Very disrespectful to all of those who fought for all of our freedoms, from 100s of years ago, up until today.

And I'll leave you with the traditional poem recited on that day, in remembrance of all our fallen: In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Nice idea to hold birthday parties on each server SMILEY

I have one little concern that is perhaps moot. But I can see there are parties scheduled to november 19. and the xpack comes out november 18.

I was wondering if it could be a good idea to take a break in the festivies for a few days after the xpack comes out, to give things time to be patched and servers to be stable again. It will be a sad thing if the parties will be stopped due to server patching and crashes SMILEY

Just a concern. Else I look forward to it.

The party currently scheduled for Najena (which is unofficially *the* Australian server) falls at noon on a Thursday when a large portion of the server population will be at work.

Any chance of having a second one at a more Aussie-friendly time?

I'm a US Army Vet. Honestly I don't see the issue here. It's a party, just that, a party. You don't have to be there, and as a vet it would be fun to be at a party that day anyways.

Would love to attend (hmmm, 5pm PST? that makes it, umm, sometime around 3pm kiwi-time, give or take an hour depending on Daylight Savings), just hope the login server is fixed by then (haven't been able to log into the game in at least 3 days due to login timing out (double cycle of 9 'Trying loging server #x')

Deffinately have to get some screenshots of that party.  Course the innovation server looks like it may get the shaft with the party going on 12/11/08.

Isn't nearly everyday that there's a holiday somewhere?  They could move it to the next day, but I bet it may be a holiday in Kuwait or something, and then somebody from there will be hollaring.  I'm just saying. =)

Helpful party hint!

Give Kia and other Dev's at least 3 feet of clearance once ported in, it will help things move smoother. If you dogpile her  it makes things more difficult to do her thing.

See pic below for details.
