Which is better? MC 72 Str ring or +2melee crit ring?

Which is better, MC 72 Str ring or +2 melee crit ring where the STR, STA, and AGL are all similar? Would you choose differently for a Raid versus a Group setup?Thanks.I have tried both, and see little difference in parses solo. I have not had the chance to parse both for group setups fighting the same mobs.

It depends on your stats, what is your DPS mod and crit mod without either ring? It also depends on what kind of groups you get, if you can get a group that boosts your DPS mod by a lot you might get more benefit from the crit ring. Also, + crit can affect CA's, DPS mod cannot so thats something to consider if your crit mod is low.My Crit mod is 55% solo so I run with the STR/DPS crafted ring to boost my DPS mod which is only 28 solo. I raids with it my DPS is mod is usually 120+ depending on the group I get.

Without either ring, my DPS mod is 0, and my crit mod is 26%.We have Perfect Finesse and Ruthless Cunning to regularly boost DPS up to the 40's and 50's (about 1 fight in three), and as you said DPS mod only affects auto-attack. So I wonder which is better for me? +26 (I think) DPS proc from the strength ring will not be on all the time, but it is a much larger modifier than +2 crit. The +2 crit is on all the time, and boosts CA's and auto attack.Hmmmm.I am leaning on going back to the MC STR ring for now.

The str proc ring is probably the single best item for DPS for any melee class. The only exception to this is when you get high enough into the curves that 31 dpsmod is giving you <5% actual increase in attack damage. I wear it anywhere but the MT group where I have substantial DPSmod buffs from coercer and dirge. And with a 45 second proc duration, it's pretty much up all the time.

Make sure you pick up a Judicous Clasp and Gear and your dps will be 20 - 24 depending on quality... Scintillating quality will get you +10 each and Smoldering will get you +12 each.

+30 DPS proc >>> +2 melee crit, without a doubt, unless you have terrible weapons and 90% of your dps is CA based - in which case you are not a swashy SMILEY
