So I was upstairs rocking my son to sleep and my brother calls me... and says... hey we got you a shield.... come check it out.He starts listing the stats before I can log in... and I about pooped myself... I know it's protection isn't as good as the PR buckler... but it's higher than buckler of the howler and look as those sick stats... it makes my buckler of the howler look like the outdated DPS shield that it is...Truly a respectable item... if only our epic was that well thought out.Thanks LCN for taking care of me while I was taking care of my kid! Not many guilds would do that for ya...

30% base only affects the proc as far as i'm told, sorry to say.

Still it's the only good upgrade from FF or Howler until you can get your hands on VG. And btw grats dude...

yea, it's definitely better than any T7 buckler but i still feel VG is superior for tanking though this one is obviously superior for DPS.

Yeah got it too. Of course it just effects Furious assault but the da and crit are amazing. I lose 7% blockchance if i use this instead of virtue's guard, so i can just equip it when i dont have to offtank. The named which drops this shield is [I cannot control my vocabulary] easy. Any x4 in this game can take it out.

Yeah I actually logged in after thier raid was over to get a look at my toon (they asked me to log back out in zone)

The buckler looks cool on me.. which is nice but obviously not the most important.

What suprised me is that when I swapped the buckler of the howler out for this... I lost avoidence.

I think the howler has like +5 Def or something like that... can't remember (after raid they had me help kill trash for 5 hours... so I'm operating on 2.5 hours sleep right now).. plus I had the parry or riposte or block whatever it was adorn on it.

I need to get a new Adorn and I think they will be equal... but I have to admit I was a little shocked at the fact that 1 adorn would keep a T7 loot more defensive then a T8 uber loot... I didn't really expect the non-protection stats on the howler to compensate so well... rather shocking.

But the main thing is with a dirge, fury and Inquisitor for real buffs and in my DPS gear I was at 93% double attack, 53% Crit, 216 DPS, 197 Haste when I was proced up.

Since 7 of that DPS is from the new shield... and the old shield was at 25... you can obviously see that I had no need of the other 18 DPS... since I am obviously knocking the door of the hard cap... and hitting diminishing returns like no other... yet ALL of the Dbl attack and Crits were utilized.

On raids I'm the 4th tank anymore... 2 Guards and 1 Paladin all have better snap aggro than me... so as far as the statements about other shield being better defensively... yes... and I will try and get one of those eventually also and by the time we see them it will probably be mine by default since guards don't need them after mythical epic... but for right now I'm DPS and this shield rocks for DPS so I couldn't have asked for a buckler more well suited for me and my role.

I did have some lame 37 Defiler make fun of me for using a buckler when I linked it in Guks raid channel... that's the beauty of the internet I suppose... so many [Removed for Content] with such strong opinions about things they don't know... he got his little [Removed for Content] guild buddy SK to come in and insult my decision to use a buckler also... who stated "Zerkers don't need to DPS to hold aggro... they hold aggro fine without doing any DPS.. only SK need to DPS to hold aggro" Where do these people come from?

So I'm looking at these forums from work and I'm getting all paranoid. That shield is so hot I feel like I'm looking at [Removed for Content]. Tell me, when you examine your Abandoned Fury Stance, what does it list as the proc damage range with the shield equipped vs. without? I will anxiously be awaiting your reply with a box of Kleenex handy.

I cant complain about the buckler either. You can switch shields during the fight so every time i get aggro or have to tank i put VG on

I think it was 500 something but I am at work right now... you want the value of the proc when I am ungrouped right? Just so I make sure to get the proper value when I do it.

Meh, grouped/ungrouped. Either way. Just so you're in the same boat with it equipped as without it equipped.

Pure DPS piece.Have the VG hotkeyed to swap in if you get aggro and need some more avoidance, because this thing blows away any other shield for adding DPS.The 30% boost to the proc from O-Stance is a rather nice boost, the crit and double attack both jump DPS up also considerably.Over all a very nice and well thought out item for a berserker, sacrifices some protection to boost damage.
