Do any of you guys ever use your ranged CA at all? When I played a swash to around 30 last year I used it as often as I could and liked it. The first 1 they get, I think its a twin throw.

I use it all the time, not only is it double throw but if both hit it slows target meaning you get some ranged auto attack ont he mob before it gets to you

Depends. For raiding, almost never, except when jousting or I just have to stay ranged. For grouping, almost never. For soloing, sometimes when attacking a mob that sees invis.

I have been using ranged attacks on my swashy like a madman since RoK launched. Some of those darn melee mobs hit like trucks, and I find myself frequently opening w/ ranged attack, then following with snares, and actually kiting mobs.

![]() Almost never use ranged autoattack. Sometimes use the ranged CA as an opener on see invis mobs. But I know what you're fishing for. It would, I think, be a very particular swashbuckler who thought it worthwhile to pick up ranged skill and ranged crit.

![]() I do not use the swashie ranged ca's. I use a Rigid Scale Bow if I'm pulling something from a distance, nice damage and a 46 meter range. I generally duo box a dirge which adds a 10% chance of ranged double attack, 7.5% ranged crit chance, and an increased chance of procs going off. An opening hit is generally 3-4k damage, double that if a double attack goes off. Depending on how fast the mob closes I can get off 1-2 shots. Between crit hits, double attacks, and procs going off I've hit mobs for more than 10k damage on the opening shot. In RoK I've gotten into ranged fights with mobs that do not close for combat (casters and ranger types) and the extra range of the bow is useful if the mob I'm killing/pulling is in the middle of a group of mobs that do not social aggro.

![]() I use the ranged CA but only because I have Bag of Cogs, so ammo costs me nothing. Otherwise, I'd use a bow. It is useful for pulling see invis mobs. And I do find I'm using it a bit more in RoK when I can kite safely. Otherwise, ever since they took away CA processing on bows, it's one of our more disappointing CAs.

Edit: I thought you were talking about AoEs at first. And I'm on cold medication.
