It's a claim item that is exclusively for the people who go to fan-faire.

So, if you go to fan-faire, you get to be first to beta the new LoN card game and you get an exclusive claim item (that looks quite nice).

Those players who live in America get to go to Fan-faire easily, whilst us people who live elsewhere in the world get excluded. Again.

I'm afraid that this game is starting to become a bit "cliquey", where only certain people seem to get the benefits. I shouldn't think that you'll see many Australasians, Europeans or Asians wearing that cloak!

At least they don't have a legend's server yet.  That was when eq1 went totally down the crapper for me.  All the live events were moved to the legends server and everyone else got the leftovers.  When eq2 has a legends server then we can say this game cliquey.

Little thing about the cloak. It's not for those who WENT, but those who pre-registered and went. Wife and I went, but we did not pre-register since our going was sort of like less then a week before. So I don't think it's in my claim.

Why is there a five minute recast time on this cloak?

I wouldn't say it's easy for everyone in the US to get to Fan Faire, lol.

Wrong on both counts.

It may be easier for some Americans, as it is held in this country... but many Americans still couldn't go.... like me.

And other countries are not excluded.  I know of several people from Europe have gone.  Just because you didn't go, don't make it out to be some conspiracy.  You think Codemasters would have a convention in New York?  Not likely... relax, you'll age slower.

I met two people from the Netherlands and one from England.at Fan Faire... Last I checked, there was not an American Citizenship requirement... hmmm.... oh yeah, and I went into debt to get to the event so I wouldn't say it was easy to get there.

Oh, and one more thing.... The thread is about an item in game, not your conspiracy theory! De-railing threads makes baby Jesus cry... /nod.

It is nice to see that Americans are not the only people who can be overly dramatic.

Very cool looking cloak.  Shame about the recast timer, but I don't think it really matters.

My little halfling LOVES her cloak, but she stands here in South Qeynos in her underwear because she just doesn't have a thing that goes with the lovely new cloak.  Suggestions, please, for what my level 45 Fury might wear that would complement the cloak.  Stats aren't important, since she'll only be wearing this stuff around town anyway.  It's all about the look! SMILEY

I dunno about that level, but my T7 Xegonite Melodic Chain's, um, "accents" just precisely match the color of that cloak!

Dreadpirate: You say "Wrong on both counts" and then admit that it IS easier for Americans to go to Fanfaire; you also say you know of "several people from Europe who have gone". Do you think it was as easy for them to attend as it was for the people living in the states? I don't think so. Besides, that's not the point I was making. The point is that there are in-game items being made available, generally, to people of one geographical area to the exclusion of people from other geographical areas, on the basis that it is FAR more difficult for them to meet the qualifying criteria.

Sutures: The fact that you met two people from Holland and one from England only goes to reinforce my point; as they say "One swallow does not a summer make". Secondly, where did I suggest that you needed American citizenship to attend Fanfaire?

Finally, who said anything about a "conspiracy"? As already mentioned, I simply commented on the fact that a nice fluff item is only available to people who meet a set of criteria that is very difficult for a sizeable portion of the paying customer base to achieve. There's no suggestion of a conspiracy and I suspect you are just using the description in an attempt to cheapen my comments.

as an iksar, and an "iksar fanboi" (no other word i can use for it, frankly), i love anything iksar-related. Combine the fact that its purple (which matches my scales), its the best cloak in the history of ever./hug SOE

It's not really worth arguing about but you may want to look up the word excluded in a dictionary.http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/excluded

Oh, that pains me!  Now I am SO WISHING I had registered my friend with my second account, rather than just bringing her as a guest.  As it is, only the characters on one of my accounts get the cloaks, so the one who might wear T7 chain can't have one.   (Yeah, I know....pass the cheese. SMILEY)

I wonder if you where willing to spend the 100$ to transfer her to your registered account, /claim the robe for her on that account, and then transfer her back if she could keep the robe?
