I understand the original reasoning behind having vendor limitations on house due to the fact that characters were not allowed to sell offline.  However, we are now (and have for a long time) allowed to sell offline, and with the LU37 allowing us to sell items on the broker through all of our characters at the same time, vendor limitations seem a bit meaningless.  1.)  The owner of a house is the only one who benefits from the additional broker/vault slots in a house.  IE:  If your main character or a friend/guild member has a house with 6 broker slots and you do not yet own a home, you still will only recieve 1 broker slot even if you are on their trustee list. 2.)  Allowing trustee's to place their sales displays in your home does not give them additional sales displays.  IE:  If a character has 3 broker slots based on their housing ownership and they decide to place their sales displays in another character's house, they are not able to place those sales displays in their own home as well. 3.)  The arguement has been given that limiting the vendor crates allowing in a house encourages players to purchase larger houses, however if you see points 1 and 2 you will see that the number of vendor crates is solely dependent on the house each character owns and not on the broker slots of the house they are vending in. 4.)  Allowing unlimited vending crates in a house encourages community.  As a consumer, when I am out shopping for pricey items to avoid the commission fee of the broker, and I happen across a shop where there are multiple sales crates, I generally browse all crates in case there is something else there I am interested in.  This allows for guild community, more accessable shopping and impulse purchases.

So since no one is responding, how about a compromise ... rather than NO vendor crate cap on houses (which if figured it out ... well remembered is more like it ... 2 vendors per room) how about raise the vendor crate cap per room from 2 to say 10 (maybe 5 or 6?)

Only just read this just now and I'm entirely with you. I have a mid-level, good aligned character who owns a 6 room house in Kelethin and she shares the accommodations with my high level, good aligned character but I don't want to mar up that house by selling out of it. They LIVE there, they don't hock stuff there for pities sake! I purchased a 3 broker/vault single room acorn with my high level for storage (ages ago) and want to use it to hock goods on the Broker. I was SORELY disappointed when I tried to fit my fourth sales display in her house from my 6 room house owner only to be given a message that she could not place anymore because the house had reached its sales display limit. SMILEY I don't even plan to sell from the selling house's owner! I firmly believe they should either remove the sales display cap or double/triple the cap. So my 3 slot, single room house would be able to house 6/9 displays which would suit me just fine and allow me not to have to mar my beautiful HOME with a hocking corner.

I think it is Sony's way of making it more desireable for more people to buy homes (moneysink). As such I don't see them lifting restrictions on that anytime soon.

They might, but if they are trying to use housing as a moneysink then it wouldn't make sense.

Actually Ive found it is two venders per room so a 3br currently can hold 6 vendors (2br - 4, 5br - 10).  I personally would like to see at the very least 5 vendors per room so that a 2br has 10, 3br - 15, 5br - 30 (though 10 vendors per room or no cap would be perferred).

This would make perfect since if it weren't for the fact that it simply cannot be true.  How many broker slots each character has is solely dependent on how large of a house they own, yes, but placing your sales displays in a larger house does not give you the benefit of additional broker slots.  Therefore, this fact removes the idea that this is a ploy to promote buying multiple homes.
