![]() Hey all, Just came back after quiting when KoS came out. I'm having problems choosing a new class to play through the EoF stuff. I used to play a 30 Templar, which was fun, but after trying out a Monk when the pvp servers first came out and relising just how slow my Templar leveled i decided never to go back to another healer class. (got my Monk to about 38 i think) I tried out a wizard and warlock to about level 15 but did not like the whole glass cannon thing, i prefer to be in some kind of decent armour able to take the hits. So i want to be a melee class mainly that can stand up to all the hits from mobs. Probably a fighter class over a scout class as i don't like the whole postional/stealth attacks thing either. I will mainly be soloing but will group when i can but when i do group i don't want to automatically be the Tank, it seems the hardest job of a group? So what choices do i have? I kinda like the look of a Pally or SK but i'm not sure, maybe even go back to my Templar or try an Inquisitor?? Thanks for reading. |

SK, which is essentially a fighter/mage. I started one out when EoF launched (well, started as a paladin since it is a fae and betrayed when they introduced it for fae) and have solo'ed about 97% of the time to level 55 so far. I can routinely kill no arrow oranges and single up arrow yellows, and that is in mastercrafted armor and weapons with adept I or adept III spells. There is an EoF AA line for SKs that ends in an ability that heals them every time they cast a spell (not combat art though). Combine that with the Crusader Int line for spell crits and heal crits, the Sta line for melee crits and they do just fine. With the introduction of the AA lines, there are some fairly combat-oriented inquisitors and defilers out there as well, if you like the idea of having good healing/warding.

![]() Your wanting an SK - Fighter in plate armour, with the ability to leach life - they can take some serious punishment, and stay in the green. They are NOT as fast as scouts and mages when leveling, but after playing one for a while, I was surprised to see that they are not slow levelers either. They don't hit hard, but they have some other ways of dealing decent enough damage. All fighters tank - but generally speaking, people are gonna go for the guardians and bezerkers as MT before someone else. All fighters tank very well in different circumstances. If you play a fighter, at least be prepared to tank, but obviously you never 'have' to do anything you don't want to. |

![]() Inquisitor is also a valid option.....we had an inquisitor parsing up there with Shadowknights on a labs raid the other night (1300ish). Not only that but they can heal people other than themselves and have some nice buffs and debuffs. The only problem with inquisitor is that it takes quite a few AA before you really feel powerful in the melee department. |

Well I think you went from one of the slowest levelling classes to one of the fastest. I think any of the fighters except guardian and paladin will solo fairly quickly. I have a zerker alt and she solos quite well and can either tank or do DPS in a group. Also, don't write off healers--if you do want a healer, furies get a serious nuke at 23 and solo quite well.
