Before calling this a bug, one question. Did you switch to your highest level reaction arts?  (You get new reaction arts every 10 tradeskill levels.) If you haven't upgraded to using the higher-level reaction arts to counter events, you will skill up FAR more slowly, and often stop for long periods of time.  (Level of the recipe doesn't matter, adventuring level doesn't matter, level of the reaction arts that you use does ...)

Usually if you use the higher level counters, it brings up your skill faster.  Niami is correct as usual.

 Baaaaaaa...

Boy do *I* feel sheepish.  I've been leveling 5 crafters so fast....  guess which one I never re-arranged the buffbar on?

Tried that, it worked, thanks for the advice all!!

Best I can recommend is grind on one recipe for a while...  get durability arts going full bore to slow the combine down.  If you just hit 30, that'll be easy.  See how many skillups you can get in one combine.  Be unconcerned about quality SMILEY  The idea is to see if you can get your skill to approach your cap without leveling again.

If that doesn't work, I'd say it's a bug.

I've been seeing the same problem on both my carpenter (about 25 points below max) and my armorer (about 15), both working on T3.  Skill ups seem to be much less common than on live servers, where I've gotten 10+ skill ups on a single combine in the past...
