I know that the Valley of the Rouge Magi isn't exactly a new zone, but I was doing some testing on test last night and one of the things I tested was what I view to be an exploit in the Valley of the Rouge Magi. I took my level 25 toon, I went and got elemental lore and legend from the Academy of Arcane Science, then I went and brought a potion from Merchant Marcus (i had done the quest earlier) for 27cp... I zoned in, all the monsters were grey... I proceeded to kill just the Elementals... when they were all dead I zoned out, sold the body loot to Marcus, and brought a new potion... after potion I had made ~40sp profit, and I was able to zone right back in to the Valley... all the elementals were freshly respawned... I repeated this a few times and in about 15mins I had completed L&L: Elemental, got my 250 kill title, and made about 2 gold... This isn't exactly some major, ground breaking, exploit.. but it does seem a bit dodgy.

You could also simply go to the Forest Ruins in Qeynos and kill the level 9-12 elementals there. The respawn is quite fast on them in the Forest Ruins. So, I wouldn't count it as an exploit.

Well there are two sides to the exploit Firstly the elementals aren't contested, Valley of the Rouge Magi is an instanced zone. The second part is the money... 2gp per 15 mins may not sound like much... but... it is; and I was just killing the elementals, which are non-sentient (atleast I got no coin from them)... there are a ton more human/gnome/ect in there as well.

I wouldnt call this an exploit. it sounds like all you are really doing is farming grey mobs for body loot. If this was an exploit then bloodlines, nektropos castle(although this has a timer), and any other instanced zone that doesnt scale like splitpaw is an exploit.  Perhaps the value of the loot, or the drop rate just needs to be adjusted.

The key difference is that most instance zones lock you out, if even for a trivial amount of time... VoRM does not. I agree, as I said in my original post, that this is not a big thing... and I put "exploit" in quotes to indicate loose reference. But this is the testing feedback forum, and this, as small as it is, should not be and at minimum is a casual bug.

I think this is a fair way for the true "lowbie" to make some extra coin to offset the fact that we "high levels" have over priced all low end items to the point most any real new player wouldn't be able to afford. Most low level spells for example were maybe a gold at the very most when we all started, now the true low level players is forced to try to pay for 5+ gp for that same spell. Most of this came from the massive influx of high levels switching to Frogloks, but you see the point I hope. and for the record you could farm body drops almost anywhere, it's just a matter of finding a mob that drops stuff frequently. I'm sure there's plenty of uncontested areas in Commonlands that'd provide that same amount of loot for time invested.

I noticed in the July 26 update:

*** Zones and Population ***

- Valley of the Rogue Magi now has a longer reuse timer.
This is good, as I said above even a trivial timer would bring this back inline with the rest of the games content and it looks like Sony has added one. I like the wording "longer", I guess it is true everything is longer than nothing SMILEY

Aye, guess the devs agreed that it was on too short of a timer. (I really wasn't concerned either way whether it changed or not.) As always, my mantra is: It is what it is until the devs see fit to change it. Of course, that mantra doesn't stop me from filing a single /bug report and then moving on.
