Savin, the cute dwarf, will be appearing in Qeynos Harborside Pub as a table top dancer on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.  It should give the local ladies a thrill and although they ain't paying me anything they promised to give me free beer as long as I'm careful not to get to drunk.  One patron complained when I spilt me beer down her front last night.  This despite my attempts to dry her off.

I don't know what her problem was, I'm the one that lost the beer.

I was trying to think about what to do on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Creadance, me dwarf freind, thought we should do dwarf opera singing and get us one of those overly large Barbarian Ladies with the horned helmets, cause that way we will know when its over.

Friday nights will probably still be for fighting, but we may not be that good at it now.  Us dwarves got together and discussed a very serious issue.  In the past if we ran out of money for beer we would sell our armor and stuff.  Now if you get your clothes properly fitted they don't buy as much beer when you sell them.  So we was thinking that its not too bad if they don't fit and we could even go nakid if we had to.

Life in Qeynos sure is fun.  Its back to practicing for me.  They want me to start doing "dances in lap" or something like that.  I don't know how that will work except with the Big Barbarian types, but if the customer is willing to pay....

Me guild, the Jesters of Mistmoore, told me that I still need to do stuff for the guild.  I told them that me Tradeskill Writs were losing me money now.  They didn't seem to care much.  Luna, she is the one that bosses us all around, told me that a good Jester doesn't whine and learns to make do.
Anyway, I have a new craft I've taken up called Dishomancy it has an associated skill called DontaBreakadaDishes.  I seem to have started off pretty high skilled in Dishomancy but the the other one ...

I'm working lunches in a tavern on South Qeynos.  I'm just a novice dishwasher at the moment, but they say that if I wash another 3,000 dishes I can become an apprentice.  Right now its not making a lot of money on account of the fact its only 1 copper per dish and they charge me 1 silver for each one I break and I have to buy me own washing up liquid.  It costs about 2 copper per dish, but I'm told if I was a smarter dwarf I could go out and harvest some soapweed and kill some wolfs for canine salava and make my own soapweed.  I mentioned the cost of fuel to the owner and he told me to stop whining.

Anyway, its not making me much money but the guild does get increased status so I guess its a good thing and Luna promised not to beat me up if I shut up and do the dishes.

Well, that's all for now... life is fun in Qeynos...

[If we can't laugh about it all then we shouldn't even be here in the first place.  Perhaps a few of you might even try and add to the story... but lets try and keep it light and in character SMILEY]

This is Savin here again,  just a quick update on me progress....

I've learned that dishes tend to slip out of soapy hands a lot ... but there is a nifty technique called "catch the dish" that can counter "you have had a minor dish slip".  Also found that "scrub faster" can help you go through the pile of dishes quicker, but the cleanliness of the dishes is less likely to be pristine.

I was made a level 5 Dishwasher Novice this morning and I'm now allowed to clean glasses and coffee mugs.  Me boss told me that if I keep up the good work I will be allowed to clean silver soon.

This morning was much better.  I cleaned 150 dishes and only broke 10 of them.  So the broken dishes cost me 10 silver and I got 1 silver 50 copper from the dishes, but had to purchase 150 cleaning things at 3 silver.  The hot water isn't cheap either.  I think I only lost about 15 silver this morning so things are getting better.

I also started cleaning knifes.  Nasty things.  If you "Drop the Knife" its important not to use the "catch" counter because it results in a "cut hand" effect and the blood causes you not have pristine cleaned dishes.  But if you don't do something about the "dropped knife" you get "knife in foot" which is not nice.  I must find a way to stop this happening.  Me boss says not to worry about it, there is no way to stop dropped knife at the moment.  Easy for him to say, its not his foot.

This is Savin again,  I made some more progress on me Dishwashing today.  Its really not too bad.  I'm not sticking the Knife in my foot as much to day on account of the fact my left foot is now in cast.  I ran into a new event called "Frying Pan Drops on Floor" .. apprently if you don't counter this it hits your foot.  But since there is no counter ...     On the other hand it does seem to fix the problem that there wasn't a counter to "Drop Knife".  So effectively you can get unlimited "drop knifes" on foot if you let a "Drop Frying Pan"  hit your foot so you have a cast.  The gods are really looking out for me.  Not sure how to stop a drop frying pan yet.  I also ran into a new event called "Scalding Hot Water" the counter is "Put Butter on Burns" ... but it just doesn't seem to be effective ... still hurts like hell.

I did get a real surprise today, doing all this new dishwashing has made me a better tailor!!! Who would have guessed that!!.  Of Course the cast on my foot doesn't help me work the Spinning wheel, but I will figure out something later.

I made Level 10 Dishwasher and it said I'm now an Apprentice Dishwasher.  I'm not sure this is a good thing.  As a level 9 novice dishwasher I had finally got to the point where I was only losing 8 silver per 150 dishes washed.  I was pretty proud of myself.  Now I need to start using "Purified Hot Water" and it costs a lot more than the hot water did.  I also have to use "Orange Soap Srub."  But it cost a lot of money to buy and I can't find any oranges when I try and harvest them.  The boss told me that the good news is orange soap works better.  I can now clean more dishes per hour and between speed and the additional costs I can lose a lot more money per hour now!! I'm not sure why I should be excited about that?

As an apprentice dishwasher I get all sorts of new stuff to clean.  The carving knife is one of my favorites, and I still have three fingers left so every thing is ok.  I did run into one nasty new event, "Acid Spray".  After trying a few things I found out that the counter is "Unplug Drain" cause if the drain plugs up then the manager pours acid down it.  I tried to counter with "Catch" and burned my hands, then I tried "Cold Water" and it splashed on my face.  But, apart from the fact I can't see out of me left eye, everything is fine.  I'm now losing about 60 silver per 150 extra dirty dishes, so that's progress.  I also found out that you need snake saliva to make the organge Soap Scrub, but the snake poison isn't fun, especially if they bite you in the bum..

later ....
