Hey everyone. This is my first post on the EQ2 community boards and I just started my Scout last week. I'm level 13 now and on my way to becoming a Ranger.

During my adventures, I've tried to look out for other characters wearing Cloaks but haven't seen any yet. I'm curious to know if this piece of clothing even exists? I just can't imagine a Ranger moving through the forest in stealth without a hood over his/her head and a long cloak to help them conceal themselves better.

Besides, the hooded cloak is a staple article of clothing for most adventurers.

If they do exist, please let me know where to obtain one, if they come in different colors and styles, and if there is a level requirement. Thank you very much!

No, but Dark Ages of Camelot *spit* has them... I've always imagined the opposite, actually... seems to me a heavy cloak would not only slow me down in a full-on sneak, but would likely snag on plant life, either slowing me down or making noise when the twig rustles or breaks.  Let's not even get into the framerate reduction of all that cloth flowing and flaping in the breeze... Nay, friend, count your blessings!  SOE didn't burden us with cloaks!

If you're a ranger and you find your cloak getting snagged on underbrush, then I would suggest working on your agility hehe SMILEY

I understand your argument of framerate. However, there are ways around it. Like disabling the article of clothing from being seen like how our helmets work. They could even put in the option so that you never see anyone's cloak.

It just seems really bizarre that in our world we have all sorts of attire and armament.. but not cloaks. SWG, CoH, CoV, DAC, WoW, all of these games have cloaks available.

I realise that a new article of clothing would provide new balancing issues, IF they were to enhance attributes which I'm fine with not having a cloak that does such a thing. All sorts of Archers/Rangers/Scouts/Assasins of mythical background (even even historical background) use cloaks to conceal themselves or protect themselves from driving rain, snow, and wind.

Perhaps the EQ2 team did not put in cloaks due to graphical obstacles. There are already a few animations that I've seen where clipping (when one 3D object merges with another unnaturally, i.e. when my Kerran does /ponder) are ... more than obvious SMILEY Cloaks would bring in a horde of new clipping obstacles into play.

I just hope that one day, the EQ2 team will bring cloaks in because I think this article of clothing adds a lot of spice to a character when roleplaying.
