One of my own favourites has to be when I was with a pickup group getting the rocks for the crown heritage. The swashbuckler in the group liked to be the puller for some reason, and anyways he ran off to grab a mob and overstretched himself a little with the pull. I guess it was a long way back or something, and LS as it is there wasn't a direct path back to the group. So there I was watching his health as he's struggling to get back, red lined and nowhere near a heal it was looking pretty dire for the poor guy. Well maybe if there hadn't been a ranger in the group. Running up to the precipice I unleashed a multi-proc triple shot - swashy saved. SMILEY

What about you guys?

having the caster take aggro in a raid and then saving him w/ a lil triple fire/torrent of the ages combo to pull aggro off him only to die myself. self sacrifice sucks

Took my wife to EL to hunt/harvest. She was a 34 Mystic at the time and had always duoed with my guardian of the same lvl, never my ranger. So I mentored down and readjusted ca's. First mob, can't even remember what it was, she wanted to try to solo it. I stealthed and positioned behind the mob for a quick kill if need be. She was doing fine but had an add pop on her. So I quick finished off the mob she was working on and then burned down the add. Nothing major really, but the "holy crap!" that came from my wife really gave me a warm fuzzy. :p

Being in a group, totally poisoned up.

They ask you to pull and I start with a multi arrow attack. They all proc. Then use my 2nd multi arrow attack wich also procs 3x.
The monster stragles on and dies at your feet from the continous poison.
The reactions in team keep making me smile and enjoy playing a ranger...

( to bad the proc is totally random SMILEY

This is more of a fun moment...    I had to kill goorlux in zek to continue the save the green hoods quest and there was noone around so i decided to kite him...He was 38++ i was lvl 36. All was going good until "gasp" my poison runs out and things went downhill from there as i tried to stop and get some more up. Ended up evacing but now im stuck in combat mode near the old cook and after a minute i decided I wasnt coming out of it and didnt want to exit or zone so figured id run out past the gate pick an easy fight and all would be ok.    As I run to the gate in combat mode and open it ...YIKES its goorlux who comes madly at me (my health was still low from being in combat mode with little regen) when the guards came and pulled him off me. I was able at that point to watch the numbers come off as i used all my bow ca's.....although I got no credit for the kill it was my sweet revenge.    I am now convinced, since he came from that far off lumberjack area, that orcs either hate rangers or woodelves in particular or both!

I hope to someday soon have an equally compelling Ranger story to tell.  Great stories......

Anytime I use Miracle Arrow to reach an otherwise inaccessible mob, that seems to generate some nice ooohs and aaaahs. Probably the coolest
example was way back when we did DFC, and we accidentally jumped from a walkway down into a room without taking out the bird(s) in the air above the walkway. Since we couldn't get back up there after jumping down, it looked pretty bleak given that you need to kill all those mobs to get to Fyst. So I maneuvered a bit til I could target the bird, then fired Miracle Arrow through the little small window and nailed the bird up in the sky. A second later, the thing came swooping in and we fell on it like a ton of bricks. There was much rejoicing.

Another recent fun moment was when duoing with a friend in EF, just whacking solo mobs for a writ. We were talking in Teamspeak and just goofing around with the emotes when I saw a Bitterwind pioneer spawn a ways back, behind my character. I fired off Culling, Trick, Miracle, Debilitating, and Triple all in a row, and my character just stood there facing my friend's toon while all these arrows flew out of my back and tore into the pioneer. The pioneer shuddered with the impact, took two steps toward us, and died in his tracks - all without Kae even turning to face him. My buddy just burst out laughing at the complete nonchalance that accompanied such a lethal attack. It did look pretty cool, if I do say so myself. SMILEY

Great thread, btw. Keep 'em comin, Gleep-Glop.

My Great Ranger Moment was  when the guild i used to be in was doing the deception raid in firemyst.  Everything was going great we took the down 2 of the 3 mobs and all of sudden the MT went down and everyone else started falling down.  Well here come the ranger to save the day, i grab the mob and kited it around the zone while the tank gets rezed and the raid gets rebuffed and ready. Then MT took the mob away from me and we killed it.  IT WAS GREAT :smileyhappy:

I'm still a young Ranger, so my moment is one I expect most of us share.  I solo alot, but was duoing with a guildie; his comment on my damage output was something like "Holy Jeez".  Made me smile.

Heh, mine is much like what's already been said... Was duoing with a friend, who's another Ranger actually, but I have a few levels and some upgraded gear compared to him.  He had agro'd an orc in zek and was wacking away at it.   As I caught up to him I let loose a triple fire and got a triple gleaming strike/poison proc.  That sure was one very dead orc.   :smileywink:  My friend was suitably impressed...   and went straight to the broker when we got back to town.   :smileyvery-happy:

Soloing (melee!!) green double arrow up giants in TS back in the day when Rangers could solo, taking little to no damage.  No lie, check my screenshots on character profile.

Joined a pick-up group for XP and we headed for Rivervale.  Did allright at the beginning, wiped out a bunch of mobs real fast.  While we were all goofing off and spread out...we get a pop that starts wailing on one the members of the group.  So...we all run to assist....and a few more pops occur near to some running to help out...oh yeah...they helped out allright...instead of one group mob....we get that plus a couple of adds.  At first eveyone fights and manages to take care of two of the mobs...then the dieing starts to happen.  A couple try to run..only to die as well.  One group mob left and me still standing.  Being that I solo a lot...(I think my class should be changed from Ranger to Kiter)...I start doing the dance and I don't mean emote.  Eventually I take the scarecrow down after plucking enough arrows to build a ladder to Luclin.....Then I use the item the healer gave us to rez him if he went down...and he proceeds to rez everyone else.  Heh...complements were good...I responded with "And folks...this is why should have a Ranger in your group."
