Top of the tree, just where we should be!

thanks for the link, I missed it. I think it looks pretty good, but obviously a lot of people on the boards don't...

I'm excited about the changes.  Of course, I'm a ranger and that means my damage will go up.  Not that I think its bad now.  If I'm to be in a group similar to sorcs, than we definitely need upgrades.  Sorcs can pump as much as 2x damage as me.  They die 10x as fast tho, which is sometimes humourous.

This is really going to be good for the game--I'm surprised more haven't commented on it!

Actually pretty much everyone's been talking about it.  Lots are upset, lots are happy.  Rogues are upset because they don't feel their "utility" spells offset having less dps than predators.  I mean come on, why give a rogue a taunt, its a scout with medium armor and just going to die in 3 hits.  Enchanters are somehow going to be in the middle of the chart (?) and the devs favorite pampered class, brawlers, get moved down to where they belong although hopefully with some added mitigation. What I personally think however is that predators should be alone on the top teir of damage.  Yes yes I know people will think this is a biased choice, but look at the utility the sorcerers have... and then look at what predators have.  We both get an evac, well wizards do I don't think warlocks do, but sorcs have some useful group buffs.  For group buffs predators have... um... pathfinding.  As a ranger I have no ability that affects anyone other than myself besides pathfinding and evac.  Which most of the time you're going to be fighting in one area and not moving around so pathfinding has little importance and a few other classes have evac as well.  The sorcs will always do more damage than anyone else however because they don't have to worry about positioning.  For the time we take to run up to the mob and get behind it, they've already launched a few spells to do a few thousand damage.  But I guess I can't really complain.  We still are going to be one of the top 4 classes in damage and can at least survive an extra hit or two if we take aggro compared to a sorcerer.  Once the warlock's 36 second no-break root is nerfed, rangers may even become the best soloing class.  Despite any negatives other people or myself have though, we're still the best [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] class in the game  :smileyvery-happy:

--I disagree with you. U should be top above sorcs...hmm. Have you played one? I've played a 35 Swashy that wears medium armor. My warlock gets spanked very quickly from a double up group mob. U blink, im dead if i have aggro. My swash( yes i know a not a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]/ranger but still med armor)  can take some damage if need be. I've seen assas take hits and with a healer healing them they can stay alive. With a healer healing a wiz/warlock your very lucky to stay alive if you have aggro for a long time not to mention if you are live from the first strikes of the mob (if the healer is slow). Yup u have to be behind the mob to do your attacks its true, u can take damage where as i don't even want to buy a procing staff that did 165 damage cause i don't want to be in melee range from the mob. AOEs plus no time to react if i get aggro...things u don t have to worry about.
O, and the utility of a warlock is not that great. Yes i do enjoy extra power...and the tanks i'm sure enjoy a poison proc (wizards and there mana pumpin which they most don't like cause they get a blow to there dps) aren't huge. I'm sorry but pathfinding is underated. When i'm traveling and get aggro with my swash very rarely do i die, i just keep running...sprint and i'm gone. With my warlock i have died so many more times, u get aggro boom could die from the first flurry or get stunned and be surely dead. Pathfinding gives just enough to get away i find...which saves a lot of debt. You also have to pay for arrows and poison, not to mention adepts. Sorc adepts seam to be WAY more money then scout ca's adepts, its insane, take a look at a broker sometime. As far as taunt....hmm i've tanked (at lvl 34) all the sisters and there adds in nek castle....how many healers would it take to keep up a wizard or warlock...like a freaking raid. Taunt isn't something used very often, granted, but has saves my healers life many times not to mention winning the battle. Its a great for when things get messed up and u  have to jump in. Evac warlocks don't get, wizards do. When u cast it you have to stay still as a wizard and the casting time is longer so u can't run. Meaning, if your tank dies the sorc is usually the next one to die cause of the dps aggro...not much chance of getting a evac off in time as u will be swarmed fast and die even faster. A scout can jump, run, what ever and it wont interupt not to mention they can take more hits so evac is easy to use and will save pt's many times over.
