From todays Beta notes : "Where other Scouts receive stances, the Troubador/Dirge/Bard spell line that starts with Insatiable Ardor was changed to a group buff. Troubadors buff Defense, while Dirges buff Parry." Can someone please post a screenshot of this updated spell from beta?

What that also means is a Troubador and Dirge in the same group can stack their abilities. Good stuff. --Dratn

please dont compare this skillnumbers to what you know from live, cause you cant, dirges buff +24 parry at adpt1 with this buff (parry buffs are all higher now, because +1def is more worth than +1parry) and +4x at master1 with the lvl 60 one... all the skill buffs got raised and we first have to find out again how much is how good, but you certainly just cant compare this to live

What Lockeye said does not correlate directly to the value of each point of parry compared to each point of defense. Read it again. What it *does* mean is that the *overall* amount of avoidance that the Dirge's buff gives (which is a higher actual value than the Troubador's) is higher in certain situations (obviously, when you're able to apply it to applicable classes in situations where they can perform parries). That doesn't mean that parry offers more avoidance per point, it means the Dirge's buff just raises parry that much more than the Troub's buff's Defense. Conversely, the Troubador's buff still affects the melee classes that have parry still, yet also buffs all other classes avoidance whether they can parry or not (read: casters).

At master 1 Graceful Avoidance gives 22 defence, the same as master 1 Duststorm.

Even with these both together the overall affect isnt anything like it is on live atm.  It is nice to buff defense tho.

So what of the defence cap? Things have changed again and again but I thought I read that this was one of the main things incoming - have they changed the effectiveness of defence to the point where a cap is not neccesary or will not be reached easily? Can a warden and troubadour now add +44 defence and still stack that with whatever a guardian can buff?

there's a cap in avoidance at 80%. but it seems like the effect of defense to avoidance has been drastically lowered. i.e the avoidance of my lvl 55 troub raises by 2% (from 58% with +5 defense shield to 60%) with graceful avoidance ad3 (thats +19 defense)

Woo!

Great news. It's good to see the devs are listening to our concerns.

I got the Master II upgrade to Daelor's which is +15.8 to Def and it adds 7.5% to my avoidance when I cast it.
