I've recently started doing the Peacock Club line of quests in Maj'Dul and just gotten to the part where you're told about the goddess, Anashti Sul, who is said to teach the secret of eternal youth. I was wondering if anyone further along in the Peacock Club quests had any more information about her.

This is believed to be Anashti Sul:

It's on a wall inside the zone of Fountain of Life.

from Prima's Official Game Guide
Anashti Sul "The Undying" Diety, Plane of Existance Unknown Worshippers: Anti-Healers, Morticians, Undead, Vampires
"Anashti Sul is a mystery in the world of mortals. Her name has slowly trickled through the mortal realms. Whispers of the god of undeath, the Undying, began to be passed from tongue to tongue. Some called her a god of death, some a god of immortality. Her true history and orgin are unknown on the world of Norrath."Deep within the Silent City is a temple containing the "Fountain of Life". This temple is devoted to the worship of Anashti Sul, presided over by the revenant God-King Anuk. A vampire from the mainland, Dimion D'Morte, is on pilgrimage here.

Lect'ZadhThe Godking Anuk is the founder of the City of Life, Ahket Aken. He is also the prophet of the lost Goddess of Life, Anashti Sul. Long ago did he discover her lost shrine within the Elddar Empire. Through her forgotten words he rose from the ranks of the Elddar Empire and cast free the Dal religions. He is the only known chosen prophet of Anashti Sul. He is the all powerful ruler of Ahket Aken and is the harbinger of the gift of Anashti Sul, the gift of undeath. The Godking Anuk resides in the Inner Temple of the royal districts of Ahket Aken.Phar'AhktAnashti Sul is our lost goddess. Long ago the powers above did smite our goddess and send her forth into oblivion. She was lost to existence. It was not until she graced the Godking with her ancient words that she would be revealed to us, the chosen. Only we shall live on to spread the faith.

I may be taking this line waaaay too literally, but could oblivion be another way of saying Void? After all, Zebuxoruk was thrown in there once according to some sources.

You'll find any reason to connect something to the void, wont you?

Sounds like that is the root from where the Sul'Dal get thier prefix.  it makes sense sinse they are undead elves now in SS.  Looks like she was worshipped by the elves foremost for her life sustaining abilities, but perhaps lost her followers when the elddar was destroyed by Solusek Ro.  That would make sense as they cried out to her for help but she didn't answer.

I wonder why she was cast into oblivion.  Perhaps she was initialy good or nuetral but started becoming dark and twisted within her own powers.  then the gods saw her corruption and decided to get rid of her.  Or maybe she made a pact with another diety and when the other gods found out, they took revenge on her seeing her alliance as betrayal.  OR maybe she was punished for allowing the Sul'Dal to reach undead states when they shouldn't have.  If thats the case it looks like Tunare and Rodcet would be imposed on.  Unless, Rodcet took her place after her fall.

Besides, if it was the Void that it's talking about, then oblivion would be capitalized, don't you think?

I'm actualy glad someone posted about this.  Heh, actually, I've been wanting to make a post regarding many of the gods that I don't have a lot of info on.  I sort of have a thing for the Norrathian Pantheon.  Soooo many gods, it's really sad that they are only letting us officially worship 8 when EoF comes out.  My tally comes in around 48 (give or take).  I realize to allow us to officially worship 48 seperate deities would be insane.  But it sort of causes one to beg the question...why have any such "religious affiliation" at all?  I feel a brilliant idea would be to simply have various NPCs who follow said deity be available to tell others about their god if inquired about him.  But that's just my 2cp

In regards to Anashti Sul, she began being worshiped by elves when they were living in the Elddar Forest and Takish Hiz.  Anashti Sul seems to always have been something of a goddess of unlife, as that is the blessing she bestowed upon her followers.  It would seem that everything that took place in Akhet Akun occurred before the elves had entirely left Antonica for Faydwer, and that means humans were not even created yet.  Thus, all the inhabitants of the undead city are Dal, or elves.  And, as someone pointed out, Sul'Dal simply refers to elves that have been somehow influenced (I would assume the fact that they are now living dead) by Anashti Sul.  Sort of like how the name Teir'Dal means abyss elf, and Ayr'Dal means misfit elf, or something along those lines.
